It's been a long, strange trip for FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, and here's how old they were at the beginning and end of The X-Files. While The X-Files' pilot episode aired in September 1993, it was shot in March 1993, and that's where the accepted series timeline places it.

Mulder is older than Scully, but only by a few years.

Going by these dates, Mulder was 31 at the start of The X-Files when he first met Scully and they worked their first case together. The season 11 finale, "My Struggle IV," is generally accepted to take place around when it aired on March 21, 2018. This means Mulder was 56-years-old when The X-Files finished.
