It has officially been announced that Xbox will now give players an easier method to integrate Twitch for their livestreams. Xbox insiders tested Twitch integration near the end of last year, which brought the means of accessing the live streaming service directly to the Xbox menu.

Recently Microsoft has been putting significant resources into its gaming console brand. The multinational tech corporation has gone on a bit of a buying spree over the past year acquiring renown gaming developers such as Bethesda and Activision Blizzard. This seems to have forced rival Sony to take similar measures with the purchase of Bungie, which coincidently was the studio that once helmed Xbox's iconic Halo franchise. The pattern has garnered a lot of attention and has even drawn some to compare Microsoft and Xbox to Disney by how both companies are acquiring large numbers of well-known franchises.

Now Xbox has taken another step to improve its gaming experience quality by making Twitch significantly easier to access. Players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One can now go to “Capture and Share” on the guide and select “Live Streaming.” From there, players will need to link their Twitch account through either QR code or navigating to the URL. Once linked, players can select “Go Live Now” button to stream any game downloaded to their particular Xbox console. This new method will also allow players to manage game and mic audio levels as well as provide a pause screen if one decides to switch games mid-stream.

In spite of seemingly constant scandals involving Twitch, the live streaming platform remains one of the best of its kind and it makes sense that Xbox would want to improve its relations with the service. Microsoft's console brand looks to be gearing up for a major push over the next decade with all of their recent purchases. Having a good relationship with a platform like Twitch is paving the way for more of its future products to be showcased.

When it comes to sales figures, Xbox has continued to fall short of Sony's PlayStation line in recent memory. The heads of Microsoft, however, look keen on changing that narrative and seem to believe that gaming as a whole will play a big role in the company's future. Given Microsoft's recent track record, it would not be surprising if this Twitch partnership is soon followed by something else substantial.
