Seven games are coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC in July, including Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Undertale. Xbox Game Pass for PC launched in beta in early June for just $4.99 per month during the beta period.

The original reveal of the Xbox Game Pass for PC came shortly after Microsoft announced big expansions of the Xbox Game Pass. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, revealed in April 2019, combines the benefits of Xbox Live Gold (namely, online multiplayer and the monthly free "Games with Gold") with the Xbox Game Pass. The Xbox Game Pass service, however, contained games mostly limited to Xbox One consoles, so the introduction of Xbox Game Pass for PC aimed to bring a larger variety of PC-compatible games to the Xbox Game Pass. At launch, Xbox Game Pass for PC had a library of more than 100 games. The first month of Xbox Game Pass for PC cost just $1 (a deal that expires tomorrow, at which point it will increase to the $4.99 beta price). Once the PC pass' beta is over, Xbox Game Pass for PC will cost $9.99 per month, and the PC pass is included in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's $14.99 per month price point.

Microsoft announced the full list of July Xbox Game Pass for PC games and their release dates on Twitter. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, My Time at Portia and Undertale will all be arriving tomorrow, July 4. Blazing Chrome, Dead Rising 4Timespinner and Unavowed will come later, on July 11. Dead Rising 4, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Blazing Chrome and My Time at Portia will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One consoles. In addition to these games, Microsoft revealed that LEGO City Undercover will come to Xbox Game Pass on consoles only on July 11.

My Time at Portia, Timespinner, Unavowed and Undertale were all revealed as Xbox Game Pass for PC games last week during Microsoft's ID@Xbox Game Pass indie game showcase, but no release dates were given at the time. During the showcase, Microsoft also revealed that Bad North, Machinarium, Worms W.M.D, For the King, GoNNER, The Banner Saga 3 and Yoku's Island Express will be coming to Xbox Game Pass (some to PC only and others to both PC and consoles).

The addition of these titles to the Xbox Game Pass for PC library is a big step in adding value to the PC pass. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War reviewed well when it launched in 2017, praised for its open world and interesting orc politics, and Undertale became an instant classic upon release due to its humor, innovative mechanics and touching themes. With other indies like The Banner Saga 3 and Yoku's Island Express on the horizon, Xbox only needs to bring more AAA games like Shadow of War and Dead Rising 4 to the table to continue delivering on Xbox Game Pass for PC's monthly additions.
