A new report claims that Xbox Game Pass added over $6,000-worth of games in 2021, potentially proving the belief that the subscription service offers some of the highest value for money on the market. Throughout the year, Xbox has added day-one releases including Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite, as well as older classics from previous Xbox consoles, many of which have been enhanced with FPS Boosts for the Series X/S,

Xbox Game Pass gives users the opportunity to access a wide catalog of hundreds of games from across Xbox's history. The service, which is also available for PC, is recognized as offering a lot of options for its customers, including services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming which lets users play games from their mobile devices as well as via their PC browser. Xbox Game Pass frequently adds and removes games from its roster, and this month welcomed a host of family-friendly titles for the holiday season, as well as one of the most highly-anticipated games of the year with Halo Infinite's campaign joining Game Pass on the day of its launch.

According to a report from The Loadout, the value of new games added to Xbox Game Pass in 2021 totals $6,317.35, an impressive figure when compared to the $15 a month users pay for access to the highest tier of the service, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The publication came to the value by adding the cost of each game that came to Xbox Game Pass during 2021, at the price point listed on the Microsoft Store. The report notes that March offered the most value for players, with the month's Game Pass additions totaling $964.67, in part due to the company's acquisition of Bethesda and subsequent release of a number of Bethesda classics on Game Pass.

While Xbox Game Pass continues to be one of the most affordable ways to access a host of games both new and old, many users are still awaiting a suitable competitor from Sony. While PlayStation users have both PS Plus and PS Now subscription services available, neither offer quite as many perks as Game Pass. It's claimed that Sony is working to bring a Game Pass competitor to market, though nothing has yet been confirmed by the company.

Xbox Game Pass has added a surprising number of new games and day-one releases throughout 2021, and it's possible that the service could get even bigger and better in the coming year. Thanks to the acquisition of Bethesda, Xbox players are expecting a range of new games from the developer, many of which are likely to be included within the Game Pass service. Fans are still waiting for news on the upcoming Bethesda RPG Starfield, and the highly-anticipated Elder Scrolls 6 is a confirmed Xbox exclusive.
