Xbox is reportedly planning an all-new event focused on games for April. The exact specifics are unclear, but the platform holder has been hosting consistent events for the last few months which will give players an idea of what the future holds for them. Even though Xbox's first-party lineup is sparse at the moment, the coming months are incredibly promising with titles like Halo Infinite and new announcements that could build further confidence in the brand.

A few weeks ago, Xbox showcased a number of indie titles at an ID@Xbox showcase event which gave new details on games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 212 Minutes, and more titles that are planning to launch within the next year or two. Although the event was a bit longer than it probably needed to be, it's nice to see that Xbox cares immensely about deliver quality games both big and small. It seems that Microsoft will be hosting a notable event in the coming weeks that will detail even more games coming to the console in the coming months.

In a report from ZDNet (via VGC), Xbox will reportedly host a new event in the coming weeks. Whether or not this will be consumer-focused or aimed more at developers or other business types is unclear, but it seems likely it'll be a mini-event since Xbox has a summer event planned where it'll talk more about its future with Bethesda and likely many other games like Fable. It's unclear how big this upcoming Xbox event will be, what games will be featured, or whether there will be any brand-new game announcements.

Either way, Xbox's commitment to delivering regular updates on the status of games coming to its platform has been incredibly nice. Given Covid-19 has impacted many games, causing many publishers to be wary of what they show and when they show it, Xbox has made many strides to remain transparent. Although 2021 has a lot of holes in its calendars regarding game releases, developers like 343 Industries have been providing noteworthy development updates for Halo Infinite.

As of right now, Microsoft hasn't officially confirmed this event, so take it with a grain of salt. If true, it's likely that Xbox will hold this event close to its chest for the time being, as it tends to announce these types of things roughly a week ahead of time in case of last-minute changes. Even if it doesn't happen, it won't be long before the gaming giant hosts its annual summer event.
