In a fight against one of the wildest forms of Wolverine, Colossus figured out the perfect move to take on the Wendigo-powered X-Men hero. In The Amazing X-Men #10, Colossus and Nightcrawler realize the best way to deal with the monstrous form of Wolverine is to recreate one of their most iconic moves, as the metal mutant decides to throw the beast into the sky like his classic "fastball special."

In the comics, The X-Men's Wolverine and Colossus have one of the most classic joint moves, as the pair have teamed up on numerous occasions for their "fastball special." Using his strength powers, Colossus throws Wolverine at a particular opponent, as like a fastball, the clawed-hero comes at them at an incredibly dangerous and high speed. The fastball special has been recreated with numerous other heroes and villains over the years. Still, one of the best variations came when Colossus took on a Wendigo-cursed Wolverine in an epic fight between the usual X-Men allies.

In The Amazing X-Men #10 (2014) by Craig Kyle, Chris Yost, Carlos Barberi, Iban Coello, Walden Wong, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC's Joe Caramagna, Marvel's mutants investigated a small town in Canada, where its inhabitants were turning into vicious cannibal Wendigos, thanks to a dangerous curse. Making matters more complicated was Wolverine being among the infected, as he turns into an even more dangerous killing machine thanks to the curse. To fight back against him, Nightcrawler distracts Wolverine with his teleport powers, while Colossus throws him into the sky, turning the "fastball special" against his transformed X-Men friend.

Colossus Wolverine Wendigo Fight - Marvel Comics

Colossus immediately notes that throwing Wolverine into the sky with his incredible powers was "extremely satisfying," The move also gives the X-Men enough distance from Wendigo as it buys them much-needed time to prepare for Wolverine's next attack. In the end, despite Wolverine stabbing Colossus, the X-Men would be able to free Logan from his curse and return him to his usual form. But, without the "fastball special," Marvel's mutants might not have enough time to stop them. Turning their own attack against him proved to be the perfect move for Colossus against Wolverine.

The next time Wolverine loses control of his powers or one of the X-Men becomes infected by the Wendigo, recreating the "fastball special" seems to be the perfect way to deal with them. While Wolverine might not be happy that one of his trademark moves alongside Wolverine was used by Colossus without him, he probably understands that in order to stop one of his wildest forms in all of X-Men comics, the action was entirely necessary and very effective. If it works, it works.
