In 2016, The X-Files returned to TV after being off the air for over ten years. Though it was originally imagined as a one-off thing, the tenth season was apparently successful enough to prompt Fox to order an additional and slightly longer eleventh season. The eleventh season continued building on the show’s rich mythology and gave us a number of outstanding standalone monster-of-the-week episodes, as is the fashion of The X-Files.
While there certainly are complaints to be made about the show's revival, it’s still part of the show’s canon and for true fans, there’s a lot to like about this presumably final season. If you already own the previous ten seasons, there’s no reason not to add season eleven to your collection.
