X-Files 2 Starting Production This December?

It's being reported by (now picked up by Ain't It Cool News) that on December 10, 2007, the sequel to the successful X-Files movie (and television show) will begin production, presumably for a 2008 release.

Consider this a rumor for now, but if it's true, I'd say part of the reason for starting production after nearly a decade, is because of the Writers Guild strike that will likely happen this Thursday, November 1, 2007, along with potential Actors Guild and Directors Guild strikes next July. Studios need as many movies as possible, to avoid a complete drought of new flicks. I plan on updating the Writers Guild strike very soon, so stay tuned!

(For the record, I'm excited about the return of X-Files.)
