WWE's next premium live event, Survivor Series: WarGames, is set to take place on November 26, and the card is shaping up to be another strong one for Triple H and his creative team. There has been a limited amount of time to build toward this event. Crown Jewel took place on November 5 and featured several massive matches for the company, including Roman Reigns vs. Logan Paul and Brock Lesnar clashing with Bobby Lashley. Despite only having three weeks of television to work with, Survivor Series is packed with intriguing matches that should have repercussions on both Raw and SmackDown.
That's a pleasant change of pace for Survivor Series, which has felt like an afterthought since the brand split. Every year, WWE tried to get fans to care about makeshift groups of red-brand and blue-brand wrestlers. And these attempts to put on compelling matches typically fell short. Becky Lynch was inadvertently gifted The Man gimmick after taking a potato from Nia Jax in 2018, but moments like that were few and far between. Adding the WarGames match to Survivor Series was a masterstroke, making the premium live event feel much more watchable.
Survivor Series WarGames Match Card (So Far)
There's one episode of SmackDown left before Survivor Series, so more matches could be added. Here's what's been confirmed by WWE so far.
- The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, The Usos and Solo Sikoa) vs. The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland), Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre (WarGames Match)
- Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY), Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley vs. Alexa Bliss, Bianca Belair, Asuka, Mia Yim, and a mystery partner (WarGames Match)
- Seth Rollins vs. Austin Theory vs. Bobby Lashley (Triple Threat United States Championship Match)
- Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi Blackheart (SmackDown Women's Championship)
- AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor
This card has a lot to like, even if it feels a bit short. The WarGames matches are always a spectacle, and the audience could see many things play out for both the men and the women. Styles and Balor could be a match-of-the-year candidate if they're both on and given time to work. The mystery partner joining Belair's WarGames team is also intriguing. Don't sleep on the triple-threat fight, either. That could be an actual barn burner, given how outstanding all three men have been as of late.
Five matches are pretty light, even though the WarGames fights tend to take quite a while. It wouldn't be surprising to see another match or two placed onto this card during SmackDown on November 25. Perhaps Triple H and WWE will give every fight time to breathe instead of shoehorning another match onto the card. For the time being, though, this is what fans can look forward to seeing at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 26. The WWE show is set to take place from the TD Garden in Boston and will be available on Peacock.
