Since the curtain closed on WrestleMania 38, WWE has been eyeing Roman Reigns Vs. The Rock to headline WrestleMania 39. It comes down to The Rock's movie schedule (and otherwise hectic agenda) and whether or not Triple H chooses to keep the unified titles on Reigns for another seven months. Anything can happen during the "regular season" of professional wrestling, but the stars might align in time for the April 1 & 2 premium live event.

Recently, rumors have emerged that Reigns isn't expected to lose for the remainder of 2022. Scuttlebut has also indicated that Triple H is looking for a creative way to get one of the belts off Roman without ending his historic streak. Several situations need to fall the right way for a bout between the megastars to go down at WrestleMania 39, but as recently as last May, The Rock didn't have any movie commitments through the first quarter of 2023. That could open the door for a dream match between these two generational stars. Would Roman Reigns want that match, though? Does he have anything to prove against one of the best of the Attitude Era?

In a recent interview with Logan Paul on the IMPAULSIVE podcast, Reigns spoke about the possible match against The Rock. "Everybody keeps trying on this one," said the unified champion. "I don't book the show, bro. I'm up for anybody. If it works out, then I'm ready." Reigns also said he's ready for all comers from all corners of the entertainment business. "All the big names, all the big stars, whether they're from our business, the movies, to the internet now, I've been in a really cool groove where these things have just come to me. So I hope they'll just continue to do that. "

Reigns Vs. The Rock Would Me Massive Main Event Match

It's tough to think of a more significant main event for WrestleMania 39 than The Rock against Roman Reigns. The outcome of the match wouldn't be in question. Dwayne Johnson isn't going to slam the breaks on his movie career (never mind his involvement with the XFL and his tequila brand, among other projects) to go on a three-month championship run in WWE. The Great One would be returning to give the ultimate rub to Roman Reigns, and it'd still be a monster draw for The Show Of Shows.

WrestleMania is always about the spectacle. Seeing arguably the biggest movie star in North America take on the PWI's top wrestler of 2022 would be impossible to miss. It'd bring eyeballs from all across the entertainment spectrum and make Reigns feel like an even bigger deal than he already does. It's a clear win-win for WWE, The Rock, and Roman Reigns, and it'll be interesting to see if this match ends up coming to fruition in 2023.
