Brock Lesnar has long been one of WWE's most bankable attractions, and even though he just lost to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam this weekend, he's already being included in advertising for a premium live event next year. It took everything that Reigns, The Usos, Theory, and Paul Heyman had to literally bury Lesnar during the main event of the Biggest Party Of The Summer. The Tribal Cheif retained his unified championships, setting up a fight with Drew McIntyre at September's Clash At The Castle.
It stands to reason that Lesnar would be kept off of WWE television for the foreseeable future. Injuries to Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton forced Vince McMahon to go back to seemingly the only big match that he was capable of booking for SummerSlam in Reigns vs Lesnar. Those two had just been in the main event of WrestleMania 38 and then were rolled out again for WWE's next big premium live event.
Now it seems that WWE may have inadvertently revealed a possible timeline for Lesnar's return to action. The @StateFarmArena Twitter profile revealed that it will play host for the Day 1 PLE on Jan. 1, and literally the only wrestler who is featured on the ad is Brock Lesnar.
Fans have to read between the lines a bit, but WWE virtually never features wrestlers on ads for shows they won't be on. If someone gets hurt or plans change, they're generally removed from advertising pretty quickly. The State Farm Arena account isn't affiliated officially with WWE, so perhaps there was a crossing of wires of some sort there; especially since Lesnar was in the main event of the show last year. Still, it's worth noting The Beast Incarnate's appearance in the ad in the first place.
His future with WWE has been unclear since McMahon abruptly retired on July 22. Lesnar walked out on the Friday Night SmackDown taping, and the show reportedly had to be rewritten in a way that could go on without him, while still leaving the door open for him to return that evening. Brock did end up appearing on the broadcast, closing the night with a beatdown of the Money In The Bank briefcase holder, Theory. Lesnar obviously went on to main event WWE's biggest show of the summer, and it looks like he could very well be involved by the time Day 1 rolls around this January as well. Who knows what the landscape will look like by that point since Triple H will have been in control of creative for around five months by then
