A rumor is flying around that WWE Superstar Becky Lynch will be appearing in a Marvel movie. Superhero genre films, specifically those of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have been the dominant force in cinema for over ten years now. There has been one or more comic book inspired film releasing almost every year since the first Iron Man in 2008, and often, they have been hugely successful at the box office. The MCU’s rise has seen them cast a variety of actors, including former wrestler turned actor Dave Bautista, who plays one of the most entertaining and meme-worthy characters of the MCU, Drax.

Bautista followed the path of Hollywood megastar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who was also a former WWE champion before turning into an action star, and, of course, John Cena, who has been in the Hollywood limelight due to roles in F9, and DC’s The Suicide Squad. Now some of WWE's current crop of talent have been making the cross-over, as Roman Reigns was seen in Hobbs and Shaw, and the Big Show has his own Netflix show The Big Show Show. However, RAW Women’s Champion, ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch, has been making big strides recently with an announcement that she’ll be appearing in the season premiere of season 5 of Showtimes’ Billions, and now a rumor has surfaced that she is also set to appear in a Marvel movie.

Host of Netflix’s The Call Sheet podcast, Kris Tapley, quote-tweeted a new Billions promo highlighting Lynch’s appearance in the season premiere, and he wrote: “Becky Lynch grabbing Hollywood’s eye. (Psst: She’s also in a certain upcoming Marvel movie...).” The full tweet can be seen below:

Despite the exciting possibility of Lynch appearing in a Marvel movie, aside from the tweet, there is not a lot of information. It’s possible that the news may have come from elsewhere, and Tapley is now reporting it, but at this time, nothing has been confirmed. Lynch’s participation in an “upcoming Marvel movie” remains a rumor from Tapley’s tweet. Tapley has also not gone into any more detail and has not clarified whether a “Marvel movie” specifically means the MCU. However, if the rumor is true, and it is an MCU film she is a part of, Lynch would be following fellow superstar Sasha Banks into the Disney umbrella, as Banks reportedly has a role in season 2 of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Time will tell if Lynch will actually appear in a Marvel-related project, but if she does end up joining an upcoming MCU film, it will be interesting to see which Phase 4 project she would be a part of. Many have already speculated that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings could be the one to feature the WWE superstar, as it is rumored to have a fighting tournament, which would show off the wrestler’s physical talents. Lynch is also set to appear in Paramount Animation's Rumble alongside WWE’s Reigns, and the addition of a Marvel appearance would not hurt ‘The Man’s’ profile at all.
