A post-launch content roadmap for WWE 2K22 reveals a number of celebrity guests, including Logan Paul and Machine Gun Kelly, that will soon enter the ring. The upcoming professional wrestling game lets players step into the boots of the WWE's biggest icons in a journey to become a superstar. The title is set to launch on March 11, and Screen Rant's review of WWE 2K22 reveals that the newest entry may redeem the series' divisive past installments.

The WWE 2K franchise grew stagnant leading up to its last installment, but the next entry promises to be a fresh start for the intense wrestling franchise. WWE 2K22 features a brand-new combat system, letting players pull off dazzling combos using a mixture of strikes, grapples and counters. WWE 2K22's cover star Rey Mysterio is the central focus of the 2K Showcase mode, but the title's extensive roster includes other wrestling favorites like Roman Reigns and Randy Orton. The lineup is even set to include 35 wrestlers who no longer belong to the WWE, and a Machine Gun Kelly DLC for WWE 2K22 is set to add the musician and actor to the roster post-launch.

An announcement from publisher 2K reveals a sizable series of DLC drops for WWE 2K22 which will add several celebrities as playable characters. While Machine Gun Kelly was already revealed, the large lineup of additional fighters will include icons like social media star Logan Paul, actress and SmackDown champion Ronda Rousey and the legendary Mr. T. A total of 28 new fighters will be released through five separate expansion packs, which will launch every three weeks beginning April 26. This means that the final DLC, which is set to feature Machine Gun Kelly and Logan Paul, will arrive on July 19.

While WWE 2K22 has an extensive roadmap of post-launch content on the way, the future of the professional wrestling series seems less than certain. Reports indicate that EA may develop the next WWE game, with current publisher 2K potentially getting thrown out of the ring. This possible transition is apparently due to the poor reception of the past few WWE titles, with the particularly poor launch of WWE 2K20 likely accelerating these discussions. However, the anticipated success of 2K22 may allow 2K to maintain their hold on the wrestling series.

Even before launch, WWE 2K22 has promised to deliver a constant stream of unique new fighters over the next several months. While this DLC will include many notable wrestlers, non-wrestlers like Machine Gun Kelly and Logan Paul are arguably the most exciting inclusion. Using WWE 2K22's brand-new combat system, the DLC will amazingly allow Logan Paul and Mr. T to go head-to-head in the virtual ring.
