Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns are the cover stars of WWE 2K20. The reveal comes along with several newly disclosed details about the latest installment in 2K’s long-running series of WWE video games.

Lynch and Reigns will be joining an elite group of grapplers. Throughout the years, names like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, and John Cena have all appeared on the cover for a WWE 2K game. More often than not, the nod is either given to a wrestling legend or an active performer that has caught fire with crowds. It's certainly true for Lynch, who has been on a roll since the early parts of 2018. Defeating Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in the main event of Wrestlemania 35, Lynch has been nominated for an ESPY recently as well as appearing alongside GLOW’s Alison Brie in a recent issue of ESPN The Magazine. As for Reigns, he won the award for Best WWE Moment of 2019, returning to the ring triumphantly after a battle with leukemia.

WWE 2K20, which was announced by 2K for an October 22nd release, marks the first time that a female superstar has been chosen to appear on the cover of a WWE 2K game. It’s a move which correlates with some of the features that will be included as the Showcase mode will spotlight the Women’s Evolution. Focusing on Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks, fans will be able to experience the careers of the group known as The Four Horsewomen in an entirely new way.

Gamers will also have the ability compete as male and female superstars in MyCareer and Mixed Tag Team Matches. Additionally, the WWE Towers mode will be returning, and it will include a series of challenges inspired by the career of Roman Reigns. For fans interested in Deluxe and Collector’s editions of the game, also slated for an October 22nd release, the Deluxe edition is differentiated by its special packaging and access to perks like Accelerator and MyCareer Kickstart.

Most notably, for the first time, those who purchase the Deluxe edition will have the option of selecting Hall of Famer Chyna as a playable character. The Collector’s edition, which has the same features and extras, plus exclusive rare collectibles of its own, pays homage to the 20th Anniversary of Smackdown. There are a lot of timely references in WWE 2K20 that should make it a must-own for fans of the property, even while the real-life product struggles to resonate with its audience after competition from AEW, NJPW and others has begun to take its toll on viewership numbers.
