A crazy new crossover is coming from Ahoy Comics that spoofs comic icon Archie and his friends from Riverdale, as The Wrong Earth: Trapped on Teen Planet kicks off a slew of new crossovers for The Wrong Earth series. This is a multiverse that comic fans haven't seen the likes of before. The premise of The Wrong Earth (created by Tom Peyer and Jamal Igle), is that two Earths swapped their main hero, resulting in humorous chaos. The Dragonfly of Earth Alpha is known for being rather campy and the Dragonfly of Earth Omega is far darker in nature with more grit, specifically parodying the varying ways in which Batman has been perceived over pop culture history.

The Wrong Earth released its first issue in 2018 and the series has regularly satirized the superhero genre of comics. Archie Andrews first debuted in Pep Comics #22 in 1941 and has since become a comic icon, with new issues still being published regularly. Archie has had numerous crossovers (including with Marvel's Punisher and the alien hunter known as the Predator), but this new unofficial version will see homages to the famous redhead and his Riverdale friends in a strange mash-up with Ahoy's superhero, Dragonflyman, and his sidekick Stinger.

In a press release, Ahoy Comics has revealed the newest adventure in its hit series, The Wrong Earth. A multiverse adventure is coming that will span numerous issues, with the first being The Wrong Earth: Trapped on Teen Planet #1. This one-shot has the creative team of Gail Simone, Bill Morrison, Walter Geovani, Rob Lean, Andy Troy, and Rob Steen. There will also be additional one-shots following this from March to July 2022. Enjoy preview covers below from Jamal Igle and Dan Parent, who is best known as the cover artist for numerous Archie Comics publications.

Other titles that will follow the start of the event include: The Wrong Earth: Fame & Fortune #1 written by Mark Russell with art by Michael Montenat, The Wrong Earth: Purple #1 written by Stuart Moore with art by Fred Harper, The Wrong Earth: Confidence Men #1 written by Mark Waid with art by Leonard Kirk, and The Wrong Earth: Meat #1 written by Tom Peyer with art by Greg Scott. Jamal Igle, the co-creator of The Wrong Earth will provide covers, while variant covers will be illustrated by Gene Ha, Dan Parent, Jerry Ordway, and other artists. Gail Simone, famed for her work on Birds of Prey, Secret Six, and Domino, says:

Tom Peyer and Jamal Igle created a clever premise with THE WRONG EARTH that is a deeply satisfying read. All it needed were more redheads. Our story is about a town, a small town, and the people who live in the town, including an earnest ginger, who is sort of in love with two girls. From a distance, this town presents itself like so many other small towns all over the world: safe, decent, innocent. Get closer, though, and you start seeing the shadows, specifically the long, dark shadow of the Dragonfly.

While The Wrong Earth began with Earth-Alpha and Earth-Omega, this multiverse has since expanded to include Earth-Zeta, which was introduced in a 2021 sequel series, The Wrong Earth: Night and Day. Now, the multiverse will expand once again to include Earth-Kappa, a world of "big hair, shoulder pads... and funk music," as well as the Archie Comics-themed "Teen Planet." This event will seemingly end with two new Dragonflyman adventures, as the hero(es) contend with an unexpected sum of money and the dastardly Dr. Meat. The Wrong Earth's latest adventures from Ahoy Comics begin with the Archie- and Riverdale-inspired world in The Wrong Earth: Trapped on Teen Planet #1, which releases March 2.
