We sit down with John C. Reilly to talk about taking on the role of lovable video game baddie Ralph in Disney's 'Wreck-It-Ralph'.

This weekend Disney's new tale of the secret world of arcade video game characters Wreck-It-Ralph opens in theaters. Rich Moore (TV's The Simpsons, Futurama) directs a voice cast that includes John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer in a film that takes the viewer through the dynamic landscapes of games ranging from classic 8-bit to an explosive first person shooter.

We had the chance to sit down with Wreck-It-Ralph himself, John C. Reilly, recently to talk about what drew him to this project in particular when he has been somewhat resistant to animated films in the past, how he helped to develop the character of Ralph/what he sees of himself in him and what he learned from Sean Penn about the importance of having another actor to work with - even when shooting one side of a telephone conversation.

Take a look at our video interview above and the trailer and synopsis for Wreck-It-Ralph below.

Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It-Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?

Wreck-It Ralph opens in U.S. theaters on November 2nd, 2012.
