In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the WRC, Nacon has just announced the latest title in the series of racing games, aptly named WRC 10, with an announcement trailer and accompanying news post highlighting the series' advancements in terms of realism for both the graphics and the gameplay. The FIA World Rally Championship is a competitive motorsport that planted its roots in the racing scene all the way back in 1973, sending participants to compete in 13 huge international events. The first video game adaptation for the racing event was released in 2001 (2002 for the United States) in the form of World Rally Championship, receiving praise from critics and players at the time for its gameplay, graphical quality, and realism. Since then, the series has seen an abundance of sequels, with the most recent release WRC 9 coming out just last year on current and next-gen consoles.

WRC 10 promises to be the most realistic and content-packed title to date, as announced on the series' website. Boasting next-gen graphics that show off every detail of the iconic cars and tracks from the sport throughout the years, the title is mashing together the best content from the championship since its debut in 1973 with the latest rendering technology at its disposal. The bulk of the game's realism, however, truly shines in the new physics engine, introducing advancements such as realistic aerodynamic force and the ability to tweak cars in greater depth than ever before in the series with new turbo and braking management systems. An announcement trailer posted by Nacon shows off these remarkable advancements.

Also featured in the announcement is the enhanced Career Mode, which now gives players the ability to create their own racing teams and livery. The game will also feature challenges and clubs for players to take part in eSports competitions and push their skills to the limit. This is shaping up to be a major release for the series, with many fans already eager to get their hands on the title. WRC 10 releases on September 2 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One, with the Switch version releasing at a later date.
