WoW Classic's world first level 60 was acknowledged today as Jokerd, a streamer who accomplished the feat by playing solo on a Gnome Mage character. The race to become the first level 60 in WoW Classic has been an intense one that involved several of the game's most powerful guilds working together in an attempt to get a player into the record books, with many of them streaming the attempts to hundreds of thousands of viewers.

WoW Classic is a return to the hardcore MMORPG roots that turned Blizzard's game into the worldwide phenomenon it is today, but with that nostalgia comes a much more trying and time-intensive gameplay experience that isn't necessarily for everyone. With that said, though, WoW Classic has been anything but unpopular - the game instantly rocketed to over 1 million concurrent views on Twitch upon its release, and the demand for the title has been so high that WoW Classic login queues have been climbing to wait times as long as six hours. To address this, Blizzard recently updated the game to have more realm options, a move that has alleviated a lot of the pressure on WoW Classic login times and allowed more fans to enjoy what has become a huge moment in gaming history.

More history was made today by Jokerd, a player who spent almost all of his time in WoW Classic streaming it on his own. The event was confirmed by trusted industry experts like Slasher, who tweeted out his excitement over the feat. Jokerd's accomplishment will widely be regarded as a solo player achievement, as he progressed almost entirely by soloing mobs around the world without playing any dungeons, instead aggroing several mobs at once and packing them tightly against each other before using Mage's superior AoE damage to kill them all for experience. Jokerd only used friends toward the end of his grind to activate the layering system Blizzard built into WoW Classic for the first few weeks of its release. This allowed Jokerd to manipulate which instance of a realm he was present in, allowing him superior access to spawning mobs.

With other players having the full might of legendary WoW guilds like Method behind them, though, Jokerd's accomplishment is almost certainly going to be perceived as a solo player miracle. Jokerd hit level 60 significantly faster than any of his competition in the West, too - the second-place player at the time of his achievement, which was 1:40pm CT on August 30, was only level 56. It took Jokerd three days, 20 hours, and 40 minutes of WoW Classic gameplay to hit level 60, and he streamed over 78 hours of the journey on Twitch.

The only caveat that comes with Jokerd's accomplishment is that he's the first acknowledged player to achieved level 60 in WoW Classic. There hasn't been much information about the progress of players in Eastern countries attempting to be the world first level 60 in WoW Classic, so there's a chance information trickles in that might dispute the achievement. Either way, however, the fact that Jokerd accomplished this by playing solo when other players had guilds, stat-crunching, and entire rotations of players solely trying to help them achieve it is incredible, and will go down in history as one of the most impressive WoW Classic feats ever.
