World of Warcraft's Burning Crusade Classic recently released onto servers, allowing players to return to Outland. Once the lush world of Draenor, Outland is now a shadow of its former self. Players will encounter fierce challenges on their adventures, and experience the world's most twisted aspects. Completing the Burning Crusade and additional activities in Outland will eventually lead WoW players to a pastime they know all too well: farming. As is the case with most MMORPGs, reaching endgame content features the need for resources, materials, and a quick way to make money. Thankfully, Outland offers numerous farming locations for players to take advantage of.

Given the necessity of farming for resources, some players may be seeking areas that aren't as crowded by other players. These locations come in the form of areas barred by flying accessibility. Before being able to reach the most lucrative locations, WoW players must acquire the flying skill at their respective Alliance or Horde NPCs. Flying is accessible at level 70 from NPCs located in the Shadowmoon Valley, with flying mounts purchasable at the same locations. Alliance players should seek out Ilsa Blusterbrew at Wildhammar Stronghold, while Horde players can train with Olrokk at Shadowmoon Village.

Despite Burning Crusade's changes, the locations have mostly remained the same. The first location that farming players should seek out is the Elemental Plateau. As its name suggests, it is home to Elementals of all types. Valuable Motes of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air can be acquired quickly in the area, and utilized for endgame recipes. Unfortunately, this area can be very populated by players contesting for kills despite being gated by flying. This is due to the alternative uses of Motes for players, as Motes acquired in the Elemental Plateau can also be sold at Auction Houses for high prices due to high demand. If players are willing to contest with rivals over loot, the Elemental Plateau is a good choice.

The second location, which is home to a swell of farming spots, is Terrokar Forest. While not all farming areas of the forest are barred by flying, some of the loot is worth butting heads with other players. Should the Elemental Plateau prove too crowded, Skettis provides an alternate method to collect Motes of Water and battle Water Elementals. Players should caution themselves around this area, however, as Alluvion can potentially stray too close. Most players probably don't wants to battle a WoW boss on their own while collecting materials. To the northwest of Terrokar Forest are the Barrier Hills, a prime farming spot for herbs, which are most commonly used as potion ingredients. Figuring out efficient routes throughout the Hills can exponentially increase the number of herbs collected, with minimal engagements with enemies.

The final location that can be accessed as a flight-locked alternative to Skettis, is Blackwind Lake. Battling Water Elementals and fishing for additional Motes of Water are both pastimes that can prove quite efficient in acquiring crafting materials to be used or sold. Blackwind Lake is a unique and valuable fishing location, as it has Highland Mixed School pools of fish. Players searching for Mr. Pinchy should take advantage of this location as frequently as possible. Seeing as World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic released only about a week ago, this territory should still be relatively uncontested.

World of Warcraft's Burning Crusade Classic utilizes many parts of Outland's map that enables players to acquire the materials they need in many different locations. Contesting with others over farming locations is always a possibility, but those who obtain the flying ability should be able to limit the competition in the earlier weeks of Burning Crusade's release. The Outland map is full of farming areas, and players are able to take advantage of them to the fullest effect for the Horde or the Alliance.
