With the recent release of Black Adam, some fans have found that the introduction of one of DC's greatest anti-heroes wasn't what they expected. While it was far from the vilified performances in Morbius, the film released to mixed reviews and disappointed some fans.

From The Last Airbender to Cats, there are many other movies that were outright horrible. Even thinking of them can disgust fans, and the reviews for them have fallen through the floor. Where Black Adam earned a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, these movies deserve a negative 10 out of 10.

Jack And Jill (2011)

The brother and sisters side by side in Jack and Jill

A comedy film that saw Adam Sandler playing his own twin sister, Jack and Jill has the most Razzie nominations ever, and it earned every one. "It feels like Adam Sandler is trying to see what he has to do to get the studio to say 'no'," says Reddit user LeodFitz.

Without even a single engaging character, the supposed film just keeps fans in seats long enough to get tired of its jokes. Though it features several cameos from popular actors like Al Pacino, even that wasn't enough to keep fans from wanting to run the other way every time Adam Sandler appears on-screen in a wig.

Eragon (2006)

A movie that Redditors regretted spending money to watch, Eragon completely missed its mark. Failing to adapt even a single aspect that fans loved from the books, Eragon took away all the magic that made the series great. With little depth to the cliché world presented, viewers had no reason to even keep watching.

"I loved the books as a kid and when this garbage pile came out I was so upset. I don't mind movies changing the story to fit the medium (prefer it actually), but this wasn't that, this was an idiotic money grab with no care whatsoever," shares Reddit user 9to5retireat35. While bad movies can be disappointing by themselves, bad adaptations are even worse, as they disappoint viewer expectations, as Eragon did.

Mulan (2020)

While the animated version of Mulan was a brilliant movie that taught viewers that they were capable of anything, Mulan taught viewers the exact opposite lesson. Rather than a coming-of-age story of a woman discovering how far she could reach, she simply found a place in the world because she had superhuman abilities.

Reddit user MisterMarcus comments, "All of the main character's hard work, intelligence and development was tossed aside...Oh she has superpowers and can do anything, right from the start? Okay....wait so why are we supposed to be invested in this character again?" Without its main theme or the musical numbers that fans loved, Mulan had nothing to carry it, which is why it was so disappointing.

Glitter (2001)

Another film that won accolades at the Golden Raspberry Awards, Glitter was such a panned movie that it was quickly forgotten. Yet Redditors who saw the musical still remember how much they hated it. "I was paid to see it when I worked at a theater and still walked out and clocked out before it was done," says Redditor Suspicious-Shock-934.

Accompanied by a wooden performance by Mariah Carey, the movie was never interesting enough to distract from its constant use of clichés. The death of Dice moments before the reconciliation with Billie was as tired as it was unintentionally hilarious. Though the movie tried to be deep, it only ever managed to draw laughs.

Dragon Ball Evolution (2009)

While some adaptations take genuine care to showcase their love for the source material, Dragon Ball Evolution did not do that. Instead, it decided to randomly set the story in high school with Goku as a student, which was a complete insult to fans of the original setting.

"Dragonball Evolution was horrible I felt bad for the real Dragon Ball fans," remarks Reddit user Equivalent-Salad-447. It was one of the worst live-action adaptations of all time with mediocre writing, poor acting, and weak special effects. Had it paid closer attention to the source material, it might have been marginally better, but even that would not have saved it.

The Emoji Movie (2017)

The Emoji Movie Gene Hi-5

A movie that garnered controversy just from its conception, The Emoji Movie seemed like it would be a standard mockery of younger generations. After all, it was a film centered around the interactions of talking emojis, and just the concept seemed rife for it.

Yet, the movie was never outright offensive to younger viewers. Instead, it was a generic film with little else going for it, besides its emoji gimmick. "Worst crime any form of entertainment can commit is be boring," posits Redditor Cuesport77. Little more than a blatantly manufactured corporate film, many viewers just rolled their eyes and left the theater.

Slender Man (2018)

Another movie ripped from popular media, Slender Man came years after the original viral internet sensation of Slender Man ended, and it left viewers wondering why it was even produced. "Saw it in theaters, but only stayed because everyone in the theater decided to make fun of how horrible it was," says Reddit user Intelligent_Ebb5863.

Without an original take on the character — or the horror genre — Slender Man offered nothing to its viewers. The characters were one-note and forgettable, the concept had grown stale before the movie was even released, and the action was more formulaic than it was scary.

The Last Airbender (2010)

A movie so bad that Avatar: The Last Airbender fans often deny that it exists, The Last Airbender was a complete failure and deserves its low ratings. "This was my first introduction to the franchise. It was years before I was willing to give the show a chance. Years," says Reddit user cleon42.

While a movie starring child actors can be forgiven for wooden acting, the performances by adult actors are not so easily forgotten. The boring narration, horrible special effects, and endless exposition certainly didn't help. The movie tried to cram a season's worth of content into one movie, and it missed the mark in a thousand different places. At the very least, it could have tried to pronounce Aang's name right.

Son Of The Mask (2005)

Where The Mask was a charming family comedy feature that introduced a lovable, if malicious, antihero, Son of the Mask failed to earn any similar love from viewers. Reddit user GW2RNGR states, "To call it a family film is a bald-faced lie. It's too scary for kids, too stupid for teens, and completely unwatchable for anyone else."

Without Jim Carrey's iconic likability, trying to showcase the same style of humor as in the original The Mask was always going to fail. The plot was practically non-existent, and characters seemingly darted about the screen without purpose and without any reason for audiences to care. The effects might have been nice, but that was all.

Cats (2019)

Trying to adapt musicals to the big screen is always difficult. Yet trying to adapt a musical like Cats was an exceptionally awful idea. With actors running around as computer-generated cats, fans were left to stare in complete shock as cat-people danced with roaches, sang nonsensical songs, and performed without any of the heart of the original performances.

Fans struggled to stay in their seats for even a short time. "We got drunk and decided to watch a bad movie. We couldn't get through the first 30 minutes..." says Reddit user DancingLikeAWeirdo. The poor effects and frankly terrifying-looking cat people gave viewers good reason to run.
