Fortnite has become one of the biggest games within the battle royale genre. It has seen players demonstrate some of the best gaming habits, from working as a team to emoting to one another.

But throughout the past few years, the game has also shown some bad habits too that frustrate and confuse others on the island. But out of the many guilty actions that some players have done, which ones made it onto this top ten list?

Lack Of Team Work To Accomplish Goals

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Everything New

Fortnite has always done a great job at introducing new milestones and goals to encourage players to unlock new cosmetics and items with some of the best collaborations seen in gaming. Some of these include opportunities to work with another player in order to get them ticked off the list and earn some valuable XP.

While most players can work together and do this easily, there are just some who don't. Whether it's a lack of communication or not wanting to take part, this habit can hinder the experience of those who just want to play together for the same reward.

Shooting Those Not Fighting

Fortnite might be known for shooting against other players and crafting obstacles for defenses against opponents, but that's not the only thing it can offer. You can also fish, drive, and enjoy other leisurely activities too if you didn't want to immediately take part in the action.

But isn't it frustrating when you get blown away just before making your catch of the day? These players who exploit those not fighting just to get themselves closer to winning the match don't play fair and should at least give other players a fair chance to prepare themselves for the battle ahead.

Lack Of Building Obstacles

Influenced by one of the most popular online games of all time, Minecraft, one of Fortnite's more unique features is the ability to build elaborate defenses and obstacles. Some players utilize this to great effect, but even a simple wall can make a difference between winning and losing the match.

But some players simply go in guns blazing and don't take the opportunity to defend themselves. While some enjoy going in just to score some KOs and rank up their levels, this lack of options means they miss out on a fun mechanic the game offers.

Teammates Not Working As A Team

There are many modes to play in whenever players boot up Fortnite. As well as Solo, there are also Duos, Trios, and Squads where anyone can play with their friends or with others worldwide, and just some of the reasons why it's ranked one of the best battle royale games.

The habit of ignoring your teammates or not being able to communicate is a bad one, that's for certain. It can easily cost a team the match if you're not in the same area to assist them in a battle because there's a goal that one player needs to accomplish for themselves.

Not Crouching Or Jumping

There are many ways that gamers can avoid being shot at while in the middle of a dog fight. As well as the recent inclusion of sliding, you can build walls and buildings, hide behind trees or even simply crouch and jump to make close combat more tricky for your opponent.

But there are some who lose the match by simply not using either the crouch or jumping mechanics. It's simple to do with a touch of a button, but some players don't use this enough and could turn the tides in their favor if they did.

Grinding XP On Timed Events

Earning XP, whether it's for a skilled shot from a specific weapon or meeting a new NPC, can allow you to access new cosmetics in the season pass.

As Fortnite has some of the best timed events, when a new one arrives with exclusive goodies tied to it, some will grind continuously in order to grab them. While other battle royale games are also guilty of this, it's not a healthy habit to grind and halt your own pace just for a new emote or character skin.

Not Reviving A Player

A player eliminates another player in battle royale in Fortnite

Reviving a wounded ally or bringing them back to the match from a knockout can build trust among teammates and give the player an edge over rival teams.

But choosing not to revive them can only leave your teammates feeling frustrated as they can only watch the rest of the match unfold. Furthermore, they might not want to play in the same team again, leaving everyone to start a whole new squad all over again.

Torturing Weakened Opponents

If you're playing in one of the team-based modes, revival or restoration by allies can be a great way to stay in the fight. But if you're the only survivor of your team, chances are you will either have to wait for your health to reach zero or be mercilessly shot by an opponent to start a brand new match.

But some players have the bad habit of mocking those stuck in this state. Whether it's being thrown into the storm or being shaken for their loot before being pickaxed to defeat, these are certainly some of the worst habits throughout the entire game.

Fighting In The Storm

When the storm starts to close inwards, most players are preoccupied with making it out of the purple danger zone before their health begins to drain.

But even if you try to make it out of there, there are wolves and raptors that try to take you down in the process. Furthermore, some players have the bad habit of choosing to risk their own chance to remain in the match by staying in the fog to shoot others fleeing inwards.

Players Leaving Custom Levels Before Reaching Milestones

In some events created by special guests, gamers can be treated to unique modes and new ways to play in Fortnite. Whether it's racing in streets or playing in Among Us-inspired custom matches, fans have seen these fun levels come and go over the years.

But when some are attached to milestones that can grant the player with extra XP that require lots of opponents or teammates, it's frustrating when they leave as the player inches closer to these goals. Since these are usually timed events, it can make this an especially unnecessary grind for some that are left forced to restart again or continue the tedious process.
