Breaking: Developer and publisher Wargaming just confirmed they're adding submarines as playable vessels in their mega popular MMO World of Warships and in just a few weeks players can get their first hands-on with the new class of ship.
The World of Warships Supertest program will launch in a few weeks to let players test and provide feedback on the most-requested addition to World of Warships since the game debuted in 2015.
To start, the test will include four playable submarines representing the US Navy and the German Kriegsmarine. More details about specific submarine models and their unique features will be revealed at Gamescom 2019 and perhaps, right here on Screen Rant so stay tuned for more very soon!
Last week we offered a preview for World of Warships: Legends, which expands the series as a free-to-play game on PS4 and Xbox One. The submarines update is for the original, flagship PC version of the game which already features more than 300 playable historical warships across the four main ship classes: destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers. Submarines add a fifth class to the meta and drastically change up battles and player tactics.
Artur Plociennik, Executive Producer of World of Warships:
“World of Warships has continually evolved with new gameplay mechanics, innovative game modes and rich content since its release. The uniqueness of submarines poses very interesting design challenges for our team, which we hope to be able to turn into novel new gameplay tactics for our players and to make online naval combat more exciting than ever before. We are always looking for new ways to make our audience happy and we’re aiming to fulfill every player’s fantasy of WW2 submarine operations.”
