For many fans, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was a re-introduction to MMORPGs. With a level squish praised by diehard players, access to the Death Knight class for nearly every race, a new leveling system, and new dungeons and raids aplenty, Shadowlands quickly became a bestseller, with 3.7 million copies sold on launch day, as reported by VentureBeat.

Featuring five major zones for players to explore -- Bastion, Ardenweald, Revendreth, Maldraxxus, and the ever-present Maw -- and a new cast of villains and heroes to cheer for and fight against, there are bound to be quests, objectives, achievements, and collectibles that many players accidentally pass over.

Jiggle's Favorite Toy

A Jelly cat in World of Warcraft Shadowlands

Jelly cats were an instant fan-favorite when they were introduced in Shadowlands. The player can obtain one of these adorable monstrosities from the Necrolords Renown reward system, but there is also a special achievement (Nine Afterlives) and reward (Jiggle's Favorite Toy) associated with nine cats scattered throughout the blasted plains of Maldraxxus. All the player has to do is locate the nine animals and pet each of them.

Players who want the quickest route for this journey should start at the Theater of Pain and then head south to find the first critter, Pus-in-Boots. Since the order in which players pet these creatures does not matter, fans suggest leaving Hairball, the cat found in Maldraxxus dungeon, Plaguefall, for last, along with other common enhancements and tips for better raids.

Sorrowbane

A character wielding the Sorrowbane weapon in World of Warcraft Shadowlands

This two-handed, level 18o weapon was one of the first secret items players discovered in Shadowlands. Located in the Theater of Pain in Maldraxxus, players who have reached level 60 will find the sword sticking out of the ground in the bottom right-hand corner of the Theater, but they will not be able to pull the sword before obtaining three specific items: a Potion of Unusual Strength, a Scroll of Teleport: Theater of Pain, and a Strength of Blood potion from vendors in Maldraxxus and Revendreth.

With these items collected, players must wait for a quest in Maldraxxus to pop up called "A Few Bumps Along the Way." Completing this quest will reward players with the buff "Battle Hardened" (which will last for 10 minutes). The player needs to head east to the field of edible redcap mushrooms, consume four of these if they have two of the "Battle Hardened" buffs, and finally, use the Scroll of Teleport to return to the Theater. Consume the Strength of Blood and Unusual Strength potions and voila, Sorrowbane can be pulled from the ground.

Toss A Seed To The Hunter

Daffodil as seen in World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

This is a simple, albeit entertaining secret achievement that acts as an homage to one of the most popular modern fantasy franchises, The Witcher. First, players must travel to Ardenweald and pick up an object called "A Faintly Glowing Seed." This can easily be found near the Heartwood Grove in the northeast section of Ardenweald.

With the seed, players must travel to the Grove and find an NPC named Daffodil who has grown tired of their partner's laziness. Speak to them and after a short poem from Daffodil, a boggart will appear. Gamers need to toss their seed to Gwynceirw, the Winter Wolf, and they'll be rewarded with the achievement.

The Necronom-I-Nom

A bookshelf with several books as seen in World of Warcraft Shadowlands

A great wealth of knowledge has been stored by the tactical military minds of the Necrolordsithin the Sepulcher of Knowledge in northwest Maldraxxus. Gaining entrance to the library is no easy feat, however, and to locate this secret item, players must finish the quest, "Slaylines."

After the quest is finished and the two obelisks which control the library gate are fed anima, the player needs to climb to the top floor of the main tower. There, resting on a bookshelf, they will find the toy called "The Necronom-i-nom." A reference to the Cthulhu mythos of H.P. Lovecraft, this will be a fine addition to the player's collection.

Secret Treasure At Death's End

Revendreth as seen in Shadowlands WoW.

This hidden chest of wealth can be discovered in the gothic WoW world of Revendreth. If the player travels east of Darkhaven and follows the indicator on their map to the hidden treasure, all they will find is a small room with a pile of old crates.

At first glance, this may frustrate some players, but clicking on one of the crates will destroy it, revealing a wheel that, when activated, will open a trap door and let the player explore a labyrinth of corridors underground. A slew of powerful Maldraxxi Defectors will be waiting, but once dispatched, the player will be able to take home the treasure.

Sundancer

The Sundancer mount in World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

For this especially rare mount, players need the Skystrider Glider (which can usually be bought at the auction house). The similar Goblin Glider will not work for this particular objective. First, the player must travel to the very southern tip of Bastion. There they will find a small shrine which, when activated, will grant the player "Sunrider's Blessing."

Now head north to the highest cliff on the east of Bastion and wait for the rare spawn, the golden steed Sundancer, to show. When it comes into view, players will have to jump and glide to the beast, ride it until it sets down on land, and defeat it in combat. This will not be an easy task, so gathering a group of combatants is highly recommended.

The Gift Of Vesiphone

The Gift of Vesiphone as seen in World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

Players will need to go into the Vesiphone treasure objective ready for a fight. After reaching level 60, players will have to head east of Aspirant's Rest in Bastion and enter the Purity's Pinnacle tower. There, the player will discover a large host of enemies to fight through before reaching the treasure chest.

Before the chest can be opened, the player must ring the two Bells of Purification to the left and right of the treasure. A mob of enemies will spawn. After the creatures are defeated, the player must stand under the nearby waterfall. This will grant the buff "Proof of Purity." Then, and only then, the chest can be opened.

The Gift Of Cyrus

A treasure chest on a table in World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

Similar to the other treasures found in the massive world of Bastion, this is an item that could easily be passed over by players on their first playthrough.

East of Hero's Rest, at the Terrace of Inner Grace, players first must take the teleport to the platform overhead. There they will find a treasure chest that cannot be opened until they receive the "Proof of Humility" buff. To get this buff, all the player has to do is use the emote "/kneel." Open the chest and the "Bondable Val'kyr Diadem" is theirs.

Phial Of Ravenous Slime

A table and cauldron in World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

A strange, somewhat pointless, and extremely entertaining toy, the Phial of Ravenous Slime can be created while visiting the southeast of Maldraxxus at the House of Plagues. At the House, players can find the Vat of Conspicuous Slime, a tub of dangerous-looking green ooze. Next to this, on a table, players can pick up an Empty Plague Bottle.

Interact with the Vat and the player will be rewarded with the Phial. Use the Phial, and they will be transformed into a glob of living slime that absorbs party members.

Sp-Eye-Glass

The Chest of Eyes as seen in World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

Hidden in a cavern west of the House of Eyes in Maldraxxus, players can discover a chest containing an item called the "Sp-eye-glass." Using the item will zoom in the player's sight for better targeting and searching the environment. Some players have even used it as a tool in PVP matches (to the delight of some and the anger of others).
