For Marvel SNAP players who enjoy unleashing On Reveal abilities on their opponents, there’s arguably no better card to use than Wong. Wong has become a core card in many Marvel SNAP decks thanks to his game-changing Ongoing ability, which causes the On Reveal abilities of any other cards at his location to happen twice. As such, the player needs to take advantage of the wide variety of unique hero cards with On Reveal abilities featured in Marvel SNAP to get the most out of Wong. However, any player who builds a proper deck around Wong will find lots of winning strategies that are tough to counter.

Wong is one of Marvel SNAP’s best Pool 3 cards, sharing that space with other excellent cards that lend themselves well to unique and exciting strategies. However, Wong is a 4 Cost, 2 Power card, so the player can only realize his full potential by playing On Reveal cards at his location. Therefore, it’s important that the player prioritizes cards with On Reveal abilities that build plenty of Power, either by increasing the Power of other cards or by flooding the board with minions. Alternatively, cards that reduce the Power of an opponent’s cards or even restrict their ability to play are also powerful when combined with Wong.

Before building a Marvel SNAP deck with Wong, the player should be aware that playing Wong at a location will likely alert their opponent. This makes it much easier for them to counter Wong’s ability with cards such as Leech, whose ability tears away all abilities from cards in the player’s hand, or Cosmo, whose ability stops all On Reveal abilities from triggering. Additionally, the player should include cards such as Mystique that can duplicate Wong’s ability and counter these effects.

Players should prioritize locations that synergize with Wong’s ability. Kamar-Taj causes On Reveal abilities to happen twice; combined with Wong, On Reveal abilities trigger four times. Onslaught’s Citadel is also great for a similar reason, as it doubles Ongoing abilities, and these two locations are some of the best locations in Marvel SNAP. Certain locations, such as Knowhere, where no On Reveal abilities occur, and the Isle of Silence, which disables Ongoing abilities, should be avoided.

Wong-Odin Deck

Marvel SNAP Wong-Odin-Black Panther Deck

This deck encourages the player to hit their opponent’s deck and building lots of Power. Iceman and Scorpion can be used in starting turns to increase the cost or reduce the Power of an opponent’s cards respectively. The player can always play them next to Wong, too, if their card draws aren’t lining up, as this is an easy way to damage the opponent’s deck. Sunspot is also a solid fallback card as he builds Power for any unspent Energy the player has each turn, ensuring the player isn’t sitting idle even if they miss a turn.

The player relies on Marvel SNAP’s Black Panther card for a practically unstoppable endgame. Wong’s ability to trigger the On Reveal abilities of other cards synergizes with Black Panther, whose On Reveal ability doubles his own Power. Combined with Wong, Black Panther becomes a 16 Power card. The player can take this further by playing Odin at the same location. Odin’s On Reveal ability triggers the On Reveal abilities of other cards, and with Wong present, both Black Panther and Odin have their abilities triggered twice. This doubles Black Panther’s Power four times, giving him an absurd 256 Power.

Alternatively, the player can use Marvel SNAP's Arnim Zola card on Black Panther. This destroys the original card but adds a copy to the other locations, giving the player two 16 Power cards. Ironheart’s On Reveal ability gives three other friendly cards extra Power, and the player can play her as part of a powerful combo with Wong, Black Panther, and Odin. Aside from boosting Black Panther’s Power to incredible levels, Odin’s ability will also trigger Ironheart’s ability again. This gives the player a big Power boost across the board.

Wolfsbane and Gambit serve as stopgaps. Wolfsbane gains Power On Reveal for each card present at the same location, so the player can play her next to Wong to get a high-Power card. Similarly, Wong can also trigger Gambit’s ability twice to destroy two of the opponent’s cards. Marvel SNAP’s Zabu card reduces the cost of 4-Cost cards down to 2, making Wong cheaper to play and potentially allowing the player to play extra cards. However, Zabu is locked to the season pass, so players might like to swap in Sera, who reduces all card costs by 1.

Finally, Mystique copies the Ongoing ability of the last card played, so the player can copy Wong and make use of his ability at two locations instead of one.

Wong Zoo Deck

Marvel SNAP Wong Zoo Deck

This deck uses Wong to fill the player’s side of the board with cards. Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Iceman, Scorpion, and Ironheart all play the same roles here as they do in the deck above, allowing the player to build Power, disrupt the opponent’s deck, and gain a broad Power boost, respectively. Additionally, the addition of Yondu enables the player to remove the top card from their opponent’s deck for even more disruption.

To win, the player relies on some of Marvel SNAP’s best ongoing cards by playing either White Tiger or Doctor Doom at the same location as Wong. White Tiger’s On Reveal ability sends out a Tiger card with 7 Power to another location, and when combined with Wong and Odin, the player can send out four of these cards to rapidly gain Power across the board. Doctor Doom’s ability adds a Doombot card with 5 Power to every other location. With Wong, this happens twice, allowing the player to gain up to 10 Power at every other location.

Finally, this deck also has backup cards for situations where players' card draws aren’t favorable. Devil Dinosaur gains Power based on the number of cards the player has and is one of the best cards in Marvel SNAP’s Pool 1. The player can play this to quickly gain the upper hand at any location. Moon Girl duplicates the player’s hand, potentially giving them two Devil Dinosaur cards and significantly increasing their power simultaneously.

There are many heroes in Marvel SNAP with On Reveal abilities that the player can spend their Marvel SNAP tokens on, and as such, the player may be able to come up with new and interesting strategies that combine their abilities with Wong’s. Regardless, the combo between Wong and Odin is a powerful one, and the player should include both cards together wherever possible, whether they’re building lots of Power or simply flooding the board with cards to overwhelm their Marvel SNAP opponents.
