Gal Gadot becomes the '70s Diana Prince in a new Wonder Woman deep fake video. The actress and director Patty Jenkins were gearing to release Wonder Woman 1984 next month, but with the uncertainty of the times brought by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Warner Bros. decided to push the sequel further to a December debut. With an additional couple of months waiting time, some fans are understandably frustrated with the circumstances, especially after it's been delayed a few times now. However, a fan decided to channel their efforts by creating a seamless mash-up of Gadot's version of the Amazonian princess and Lynda Carter's iteration from several decades ago.

Carter suited up as Diana Prince via her own Wonder Woman TV series that ran from 1975 to 1979. While she has yet to be involved in what Jenkins and Gadot are currently doing now with the character, Carter remains to be a key figure in creating this modern take on the iconic DC hero. The director even revealed that she watched the series while working on the first Wonder Woman film from 2017 which became a smash hit.

While there's no word yet on whether or not Carter finally has a cameo in Wonder Woman 1984, this new fan-created video impressively melds both her and Gadot's version of the character. Created by YouTube channel DeepFaker, it's more than seven-minutes of Gadot being seamlessly incorporated into Carter's body in various snippets from the '70s series. To finish it off, the creator even used the Wonder Woman theme song as its background music. Watch it below:

The integration of Gadot's face in these old clips is seamless; even when the character moves quickly, her face is still clearly visible and intact, with barely any fading on the sides. For people who don't know of Carter's Wonder Woman TV series from the '70s or without any provided context, this could easily be tagged as legitimate. Of course, it helps that the actress have the same facial features, not to mention stature. However, it's still impressive how technology nowadays is able to do something like this; while it's used in an innocent way in this the clip, it's somewhat terrifying to think how this can also be used for nefarious reasons.

While Gadot's next Wonder Woman outing won't be in the '70s, Wonder Woman 1984 will take her close to Carter's era. Given the time period, the sequel already has some aesthetic nods to the TV series, particularly in terms of how Diana dresses — at one point in the film, she wears a pantsuit which is similar to some of Cater's outfits in the small screen when she played the same hero. In any case, one would be hard-pressed to find anyone who won't be interested in seeing Carter finally make an appearance in upcoming Wonder Woman projects in any capacity.
