While there have been many great crossover events in comic book history, the possibilities continued to reach even more heights thanks to the Internet and the growing imagination of fans and artists. Although she's no stranger to crossovers, DC Comics' Wonder Woman was imagined meeting another warrior princess from another world, the popular anime heroine Sailor Moon and trading costumes with each other.

Wonder Woman was raised by Queen Hippolyta, her origins either made from clay or being a demigoddess, on the island of Themyscira, isolated from the world. When she became old enough, she became their ambassador to the world, wearing a signature outfit and using her extraordinary powers to help protect Earth, a task she manages on her own but also as a founding member of the Justice League. Sailor Moon was Princess Serenity of the former Moon Kingdom, who is reincarnated as Usagi Tsukino unaware of her previous identity until they are brought back thanks to her talking black cat Luna. She helps reawaken her former friends aka the Sailor Scouts/Soldiers and together they work to protect the Earth from villains that wish to harm or destroy it.

Costa Rican illustrator and comic book artist Kath Lobo posted on her Twitter an image of Wonder Woman and Sailor Moon meeting up and swapping each other's costumes. Princess Diana seems pretty comfortable in Sailor Moon's white and blue sailor fuku uniform, her white and pink gloves and boots, and golden tiara. Lobo used the modern version of Wonder Woman, seen during The New 52 or in Gal Gadot's portrayal of the character, for the former Princess Serenity to slip into, Moon's signature long blonde hair and odango head buns carrying stars behind the sword, armor, and gauntlets.

Not only does Lobo's style find a nice balance between cartoon-like simplicity and comic book realism, it's amazing that someone hasn't considered this crossover before considering how similar the characters are. They were both raised as Princesses of a specific kingdom and were given impressive abilities in order to protect their home and themselves. Earth is their current homeworld and they often work with a group of diverse and talented superpowered individuals to fight Earth's enemies that seek to conquer or destroy the planet. They both have secret identities that they attempt to maintain to fit in with modern society, they have specific romantic love interests with characters they have a long history with, and having seen them next to each other, it's clear they've both got iconic fashion senses.

Although they have two separate lives in two separate universes in completely separate genres, Kath Lobo's artwork definitely makes a strong argument that Wonder Woman and Sailor Moon would have been friends, two warrior princesses fighting for love and justice against a plethora of evil forces. Considering the possibilities, it would not be surprising to see this wonderful crossover brought to life at conventions in the near future.
