DC Entertainment announced this week the first-ever celebration for their first ever solo female movie star - “Wonder Woman Day” will take place on June 3, during the opening weekend for Wonder Woman's theatrical release. To celebrate the film, the day, and the 75th anniversary of the iconic DC Comics legend, over 2,000 comic retailers, bookstores, libraries and other partners will host events and give away free special edition comics.

For those interested, DC is also selling a Wonder Woman movie statue based on a scene from the movie, featuring Gal Gadot suited up in her full Wonder Woman outfit, sword and shield in hand, alongside Chris Pine's Steve Trevor.

About the Wonder Woman Movie

Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world June 2, 2017, when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure Wonder Woman.  The film also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen and Elena Anaya.

Patty Jenkins directed the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg and Jason Fuchs, based on characters from DC Entertainment.  Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.  The film is produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Stephen Jones, Geoff Johns, Jon Berg, Wesley Coller and Rebecca Steel Roven serving as executive producers.
