The DC Extended Universe (as it's currently known) is about to grow substantially, building on the foundation of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will soon become the second release in the shared universe, and David Ayer's Suicide Squad will follow thereafter. DC and Warner Brothers are already prepping two more films in the franchise: Wonder Woman, and Justice League Part 1, both due out in 2017.

We've heard rumors about both the when and where for the Wonder Woman and Justice League productions - headed by director Patty Jenkins (Monster) and Snyder, respectively - without getting any official confirmation on the matter. Fortunately, DCEU producer Charles Roven has now affirmed several previously-reported details about both superhero projects.

Collider has an interview with Roven in which he confirms the shooting locations and schedules for Wonder Woman and Justice League Part 1:

“We’re actually gonna start shooting [Wonder Woman] towards the end of [November]… We are shooting in the U.K. and in Italy.”

This confirms two previous reports that Wonder Woman would shoot in Italy, and the recent indications that production will begin in England very soon. While we still know little about the plot, Italy seems an appropriate location for Wonder Woman, given the character's roots in Greco-Roman mythology; odds are, that location is going to be used to bring Diana Prince's (Gal Gadot) home island of Themyscira to life in Jenkins' film.

Batman V Superman & The DCEU: Now What?

Roven further outlined the tentative shooting schedule for Justice League Part 1:

“We’re also making most of Justice League [in the U.K.], JL One… We’re definitely gonna be shooting Part One in the first or second quarter of next year.”

Charles Roven also confirmed that Justice League Part 1 would not shoot back-to-back with Part 2, like many assumed would happen. This news suggests that the two films might stand on their own more (in terms of their storylines, anyway) than we previously speculated. That is, we can assume that some time passes between Part 1 and Part 2, due to the three DC Extended Universe films that're scheduled between them: The Flash, Aquaman, and Shazam.
