There is still little available information about the Wonder Woman video game, but it is unlikely that it will be associated with the Batman Arkhamverse games. While one could assume that considering the series' success, it's unlikely that Wonder Woman will find herself in the same universe. However, there is solid reason to assume that this is not the case.

Wonder Woman is one of the most iconic superheroes, on the same level as Batman and Superman. However, she has had nowhere near their level of prominence when it comes to adaptations. In fact, the Wonder Woman film in 2017 was possibly her most prominent solo venture outside of comics. With Wonder Woman being such a strong role model, one would expect her to have more adaptations of her own. Her own video game would be an ideal way to continue establishing Wonder Woman as one of the most important members of DC's roster of heroes.

The Arkhamverse games were a success for DC, but that does not mean that Wonder Woman will automatically be a part of the franchise. for one, another game in the Arkhamverse line, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is already in development. With that series' next installment already known, that leaves Wonder Woman free to forge its own path in the DC Universe. It may be best for Wonder Woman to not have ties with any previous DC games at all. With so many Wonder Woman storylines and villains to choose from, the writers have plenty of material to create multiple games' worth of plotlines.

Wonder Woman Has Plenty Of Stories That Don't Need The Arkhamverse

Another reason to believe that Wonder Woman will have nothing to do with the Arkhamverse is the fact that Wonder Woman and Batman have very different backgrounds. Aside from being members of the Justice League, the two of them have very little in common. Batman has no superpowers and focuses on street-level crime, while Wonder Woman is an Amazon with several magical artifacts who fights several supernatural and godlike forces. Her adventures are far from the fare that one would expect from an Arkhamverse game, so it would make more sense if Wonder Woman was completely disconnected from that series. Wonder Woman could be DC's God of War, while the Arkhamverse was a series of beat 'em ups with stealth elements.

As a character, Wonder Woman has such expansive and rich lore that she doesn't need to be associated with the Arkhamverse in order to have a compelling plot for her game. Themiscyra could be just as strong of a setting as Arkham Asylum. With the collected mythos of Wonder Woman and her adventures over the decades, Wonder Woman could easily be a game with a deep and thrilling story without needing to be propped up by the Arkhamverse. The gods and Amazons should be able to form an interesting plotline of their own for Wonder Woman and the player to follow during her adventure. With Middle-Earth's Nemesis feature confirmed to return in Wonder Woman, the potential is there for other sorts of innovations as well.

Wonder Woman's plot will become more clear as more trailers and information for the game are released. However, it is unlikely that a connection with the Arkhamverse will be established. Wonder Woman would likely be best as a standalone title, and hopefully that is the route that DC will take. A game based in the myths of Themiscyra has enough potential to be one of DC's most intriguing gaming offerings yet.
