Gal Gadot reveals she was still shooting Wonder Woman while five months pregnant with her daughter. Wonder Woman hits theaters in a little over a month, bringing Diana Prince to the big screen for the first time, and giving Gadot a chance to really shine. The actress made her DCEU debut in last year's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it was a relatively small role, and didn't give fans a chance to really see what she can do. Now, ahead of Justice League (in which she is a lead character), she's starring in her own solo flick, giving movie fans a chance to catch up on her comic history.

The film is packed with epic fight scenes, and Gadot spent a lot of time training for her role as the Amazon princess. She was also pregnant for part of filming, which is impressive in and of itself. Now the actress has revealed that when she was doing final reshoots, she was five months pregnant, and needed special costuming so that the effects crew could hide her baby bump.

In an interview with EW, Gadot and director Patty Jenkins spoke about the challenges of reshooting action scenes in her tight costume. They revealed that while doing reshoots in November 2016, when Gadot was five months pregnant, the only way to do it was to cut a large triangle out of the front of her costume and replace it with green fabric to allow the effects team to hide it in the final film.

Gadot: On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman. On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog.

Jenkins: She’s pregnant during part of the movie, in a suit out in a field in the freezing cold in others. There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you’re doing it. Now it’s raining in the freezing cold and you’ve lost your voice, go. Everyday it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it. ... Now, at least, we will be able to tell her [new] daughter Maya that she’s in her mom’s stomach right then, in the middle of that battle scene.

In the interview, producer Chuck Roven does clarify that Gadot was unable to be as physically active during the reshoots, and that she wasn't being pushed beyond what would be reasonable and safe. However, he does say, "she was being aggressive. She still had to be fierce. That was special."

Gadot is far from the only actress who has been filming while pregnant, of course, but it's always an impressive feat, especially given the physical demands of pregnancy on the body. Filming action scenes at five months is absolutely incredible, and really shows that Gadot is something of a wonder woman in real life, too.
