Fans have been pumped about the release of the long overdue Wonder Woman movie ever since the film was announced last year. After Gal Gadot debuted as Wonder Woman earlier this year in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, there was a lot of buzz about who the first villain would be, how close the storyline would match the iconic and diverse pool of Wonder Woman comics, and who else would be cast in the film.

While there are still some unanswered questions regarding the film's primary antagonist or antagonists, a little bit of light has been shed on the subject. Elena Anaya, the talented Spanish actress from films including Van Helsing and The Skin I'm In, has given fans just a small taste of what her role in Wonder Woman will be.

Batman News crowdsourced translations via Twitter from a recent interview Anaya did for the Spanish website SensaCine. When asked about what her role in Wonder Woman entails, Anaya was secretive about the details but was candid and honest about what fans could look forward to.

“Well, it was a small role in this big ensemble, but it is an important character in the story. It’s directed by Patty Jenkins, then there’s Gal Gadot as our main lead, Chris Pine as her co-lead and I’m going to be… a big nightmare for the two of them."

Gal Gadot talks Wonder Woman (2017) film

There's a huge amount of speculation on which Wonder Woman villain Anaya is going to portray. Many fans assume she will play Circe, a DC Comics character and enemy to Wonder Woman, based on the mythical Greek sorceress of the same name. Other fans speculate that Anaya will play either Dr. Cyber or Baroness von Gunther. There is a possibility, based on what little we have to go on from Anaya's interview and her brief appearance in the Wonder Woman trailer, that the actress will portray an entirely new character all together.

Wonder Woman isn't Anaya's first major film by any stretch, despite being fairly unknown in the United States. She starred in the 2011 psychological thriller The Skin I'm In along side Antonio Banderas. Anaya also portrayed one of Dracula's brides in the 2004 film Van Helsing. She has played supporting roles in various films since starting her career, and it looks like Wonder Woman may be a big showcasing role for the talented actress.

Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
