Spoilers for Wonder Woman #766 Below

Wonder Woman may have been working with one of her greatest enemies lately, but one of Green Arrow’s villains is set to take over the vacancy within Wonder Woman’s brilliant rogue's gallery. The dizzy Count Vertigo is ready to make an appearance in Wonder Woman #766 (written by Mariko Tamaki with art by Steve Pugh) and looks set to put Maxwell Lord’s recent turn towards the light to the test.

The issues preceding #766 have been exploring the relationship between the newly reformed Maxwell Lord and Wonder Woman, but this is bound to be put to the test in #766, as the Princess of the Amazons comes up against Count Vertigo’s terrifying army. What makes this issue particularly interesting is that Count Vertigo’s army has been enhanced by tech from Lord Industries, casting doubt over the Tech Magnate’s recent turn towards the good side.

This isn’t the first time that Diana has ran into an enemy using Maxwell Lord’s technology, the prior issue had Wonder Woman caught in a turf war between two sides using stolen technology from Lord Industries. Perhaps Lord’s apparent reformation is far from guaranteed after all, the solicit certainly hints that he is far from trustworthy. Take a look at the solicit for Wonder Woman #766 below, which will also show hows how Wonder Woman has far more than just Count Vertigo to worry about in this issue!

  • 102: Count Vertigo does not like to be treated like a joke. Or...maybe he does? He’s kind of insane, after all. When Lord Industries’ psychic super-tech amps up the Count’s armies to deadly new heights, Wonder Woman sustains injuries that she may never recover from! But never fear, the “reformed” Maxwell Lord has Diana’s back...and as Diana will find out, he’s not afraid to stick a knife in!

In addition to featuring Count Vertigo and the ‘reformed’ Maxwell Lord, the cover art also shows that the legendary crime family, the Royal Flush Gang, will also be making an appearance in the issue. Although, it seems as though they too will run into a dizzy spell against Count Vertigo.

The fact that Diana is set to run into Count Vertigo, the Royal Flush Gang, and Maxwell Lord is bound to excite fans of Wonder Woman. Although, these fans should also be anxious considering that Diana will be injured while encountering some of her most fearsome enemies!
