Warner Bros. and DC Films' Wonder Woman has officially been certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Following her introduction in the divisive Batman v Superman last year - where she is often cited as being one of the highlights - Gal Gadot is finally getting the chance to shine once again as Diana Prince this week, with the upcoming release of the first ever live-action Wonder Woman feature film. After establishing herself as one of the strongest and most beloved comic book characters of all time for the past 75 years, to say that the Wonder Woman film is a long time coming for Diana, would be an understatement.

For many fans, though, not only is Wonder Woman the solo film for the character that they've been waiting their entire lives to see, but it's a chance for the DCEU to get back on track, after both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad wound up being critical disappointments last year. That may be a lot of pressure to rest on the shoulders of Gadot and director Patty Jenkins, but it looks as though Wonder Woman lives up to those lofty expectations.

There are only two more days to go until Wonder Woman is officially released in theaters stateside, but the film has already been certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. With 84 total reviews counted so far - 81 one of which are positive, while 3 are negative - the film sits at a high 96% rating on the website. There is always the chance that number could fluctuate up or down in the coming days, but fans can rest easy knowing that Wonder Woman is not considered "rotten" after all.

Chris Pine and Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman movie

This is big news, especially since last year, the poor Rotten Tomatoes ratings for Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad led a number of DC fans to try and petition for the site to be taken down. But even more than that, this also makes Wonder Woman the first film in the DCEU to be certified fresh, with its 96% rating sitting high above Man of Steel's 55%, Batman v Superman's 28%, and Suicide Squad's 25%.

In case that weren't enough, this also makes Wonder Woman one of the most critically-acclaimed superhero movies of all time. It's officially scored higher than both The Avengers (92%) and 2008's Iron Man (94%), which are currently Marvel Studios' highest-rated films. It's even higher right now than Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (94%), the film that up until this point, had been the most well-reviewed DC Comics film of all time.

If the 96% holds too, then Wonder Woman is the highest-rated comic book movie of 2017 so far, higher than The LEGO Batman Movie (90%), Logan (92%), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (81%). Whether or not this marks the beginning of a new era for the DCEU will have to wait to be seen, but it's clear that at the very least, Wonder Woman is, indeed, the film that DC fans have been waiting for.
