Henry Cavill Celebrates Wonder Woman's Blu-ray Release

Wonder Woman and Superman

The Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill, celebrates Wonder Woman's Blu-ray release, excited to watch the movie again. Before Wonder Woman hit, some of the more common questions being thrown around were about whether mainstream audiences would react to a female-led superhero film from a filmmaker who hadn't directed a feature in over a decade. Within the first couple of weeks of its release, the questions took a 180-degree turn: "Why aren't there more female-led superhero films," and "why wasn't Patty Jenkins offered any major projects since Monster in 2003?"

Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot as the titular character may not have made as much as the rest of its DCEU counterparts in its opening weekend but due to excellent reviews by critics and strong word of mouth, it kept on steadily raking in the big bucks week after week. Now, at $819M worldwide ($411.65M domestic) Wonder Woman is the highest grossing DCEU movie in the US, and second highest grossing globally. Naturally, many of the film's fans are excited for the release of the Wonder Woman Blu-ray - even Superman.

As well as including the base film to watch to your heart's content, the Wonder Woman Blu-ray has a selection of interesting extras. The most exciting is probably a two-and-a-half minute bonus scene featuring the hilarious Etta Candy. In this scene, she gathers the rag-tag team back together to discuss a secret mission involving a Mother Box. This, of course, ties into Justice League, set to be released in November.

In addition to that, the Blu-ray also comes with special features that focus on Patty Jenkins' vision for the movie and character, and how she crafted some of the bigger moments in the film, like the glorious battle scene on Themyscira.
