For fans who want to explore the movie a little further, the extras on the Wonder Woman Blu-ray are a great place to start. It’s no secret DC’s Extended Universe got off to a bumpy start. Prior to Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice had met with very mixed reviews and in the case of the latter, disappointing box-office returns. While the movies were financial successes, the DCEU had yet to produce a movie that impressed critics.

Thankfully, Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman turned that around. It was a rousing adventure set during World War I that told the origin of Gal Gadot’s warrior, who was first introduced in Batman V Superman. The movie had a great cast, a well-written story and while the final act suffers from CGI overkill, its easily the best-regarded entry in the franchise to date. Before Wonder Woman 1984 arrives, fans who want to explore the movie in more detail might want to check out the Wonder Woman Blu-ray bonus features.

The Wonder Woman “Epilogue” is a short scene involving Etta Candy (Lucy Davis) recruiting the boys for a new top-secret mission involving the Mother Box, setting up the events of Justice League. The deleted scenes are a mixed bag of alternate scenes, like the scene between Diana and Steve on the boat, and while the movie doesn’t miss them they’re interesting in isolation. "Crafting The Wonder" is a documentary where the cast and crew discuss the movie, breaking down the story, characters, set design and so forth. It’s too short to go super in-depth, but other features go into greater detail on key scenes.

“A Director’s Vision” is a series of five short documentaries breaking down key sequences from Patty Jenkin’s perspective, including “Beach Battle” and “Themyscira: The Hidden Island.” “The Warriors Of Wonder Woman” featurette covers the extensive physical training for the Amazon warriors found on Themyscira. “The Trinity” takes a deep dive into the history of Woman Woman, from the comics up to the 2017 movie. It also explores her connection to Superman and Batman over the decades.

“The Wonder Behind The Camera” is a feature that looks at the female crew behind Wonder Woman, including Patty Jenkins, costume designer Lindy Hemming, and production designer Aline Bonetto and “Finding The Wonder Woman Within” explores the legacy and impact of the DC heroine. The Wonder Woman Blu-ray is a solid package for fans who want to learn more about the movie and character, and the work that went into bringing the biggest setpieces to life.
