Wonder Woman 1984's runtime has been officially revealed, and it's quite lengthy. Fans have waited longer than expected to see Gal Gadot's next outing as Wonder Woman, as the film was initially scheduled for release last year. Warner Bros. later moved it to June 2020, and the coronavirus pandemic forced it to be delayed multiple times. As of right now, Wonder Woman 1984 is slated for release on October 2, though fans still remain worried that it could end up being moved once again. For the time being, though, Warner Bros. is proceeding as though it will make that date.

Wonder Woman 1984 will pick up with Gadot's Diana decades after her first solo adventure. By this point, Diana is living a more solitary life in Washington DC, though things are soon disrupted by the emergence of new threats in the forms of shady businessman Maxwell Lord and friend-turned-rival Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig). After months of no new footage, a second Wonder Woman 1984 trailer was released at DC FanDome recently and featured the first true look of Barbara's final form as the villainous Cheetah. Based on the online reactions to the trailer, excitement is definitely ramping up.

Over on social media, an eagle-eyed fan named Gavin noticed Wonder Woman 1984's runtime has been shared online by a Korean site. According to this source, Wonder Woman 1984 will clock in at 151 minutes, or 2 hours and 31 minutes. For comparison's sake, 2017's Wonder Woman was 2 hours and 29 minutes, so the two films are fairly close in length.

It's almost become a common practice now for major blockbusters to have rather large runtimes. Tenet recently ran into some issues in China because of its 150-minute runtime, as the country currently has a rule of not showing films over 2 hours. It remains to be seen if Wonder Woman 1984 will have the same obstacles, though since Tenet was later approved to screen in China, it would make sense if Wonder Woman 1984 received the same pass.

The 151-minute runtime might come as good news for Wonder Woman fans who want a jam-packed film. Between its two villains and the return of Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), Diana has a lot to contend with in Wonder Woman 1984, so it's good to know there's plenty of time to explore it all. On the other hand, some viewers don't take kindly to longer movies, leaving Wonder Woman 1984's length to be seen as a negative. Of course, it probably won't be enough to actually prevent anyone from seeing it, as anticipation is quite high. If all goes to plan, Wonder Woman 1984 will arrive in just over a month.
