New Wonder Woman 1984 movie images and the DC film's Entertainment Weekly magazine cover reveal a better look at Diana's Golden Eagle armor. Gal Gadot made her DC Extended Universe debut as Diana Prince in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, before her origin story was explored in 2017's Wonder Woman. Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman's solo movie was a resounding success, and it wasn't long before Warner Bros. and DC Films announced a Wonder Woman sequel was in the works. Originally slated for November 2019, Wonder Woman 1984's release date is now set for June, returning to the summer window where the first film was such a success.

In addition to Gadot, Wonder Woman 1984 sees the return of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. However, since Steve Trevor died at the end of Wonder Woman, fans are curious about how the character returns for the sequel - and that's one of the major mysteries surrounding the upcoming DC movie. Additionally, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal join Wonder Woman 1984 as Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah and Maxwell Lord respectively. The first Wonder Woman 1984 movie trailer was unveiled in December, and now Warner Bros. kicks off the official marketing push for the film with an EW cover story.

Today, EW revealed its Wonder Woman 1984 magazine cover, featuring Gadot suited up in Diana's Golden Eagle armor that was first glimpsed in the movie's teaser poster and seen again in the trailer. Additional photos feature Gadot wearing Wonder Woman's classic red and blue costume, as well as Diana teaming up with the returned Steve Trevor. See the Wonder Woman 1984 photos and EW cover below.

These Wonder Woman 1984 images don't reveal too much about the upcoming DC blockbuster, as many seem to come from the same footage used to cut the trailer. The EW cover does reveal a new side-facing look at Gadot suited up in Wonder Woman's golden armor, which looks very cool even if the wings are mostly out of shot. Plus, as seen in the photos, Wonder Woman's red and blue costume will make a return, and will likely be what she's wearing at the start of the movie. That poses the questions of why Wonder Woman gets her new golden armor, who made it and what purpose it serves in her fight against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.

Wiig's villain is another key element of the Wonder Woman sequel that's been hidden so far in marketing. Though Wiig was showcased in the first trailer, her final Cheetah look in Wonder Woman 1984 has mostly been kept under wraps, aside from promotional tie-in images that have circulated online. Still, fans are no doubt eager to see how Cheetah will be realized in live-action in Jenkins' upcoming movie. For now, fans will have to make due with these new Wonder Woman 1984 images and the EW cover. Still, this marks the next step in Warner Bros' marketing push for the movie, so fans can look forward to plenty more images and another trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 in the coming months.
