The new Themyscira theme from Wonder Woman 1984 has officially been released, and it's pretty awesome. Wonder Woman 1984 has been a long time coming, having first been scheduled for release last year. Warner Bros. ended up moving it to June 2020, which proved to be a poor decision because of the coronavirus pandemic. Wonder Woman 1984 was then delayed twice more, with its current release date being October 2. Only time will tell if it can actually hold onto that date, but Warner Bros. is proceeding along as though it will. The follow-up to 2017's Wonder Woman remains one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

Fans finally got a new look at Wonder Woman 1984 yesterday at DC FanDome, where director Patty Jenkins debuted the second trailer. Wonder Woman 1984 picks up with Diana (Gal Gadot) decades after her first solo film and puts two new villains in her way: Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Barbara Minerva/Cheetah (Kristen Wiig). At long last, fans got to see a fully transformed Cheetah in the second trailer, which was one of the more mysterious elements of the film. With (hopefully) less than two months to go before Wonder Woman 1984's release, several new elements are being revealed.

Following Wonder Woman 1984's panel at DC FanDome, a piece of the score was released by WaterTower Music on social media. Hans Zimmer serves as the composer for Wonder Woman 1984, taking over from Rupert Gregson-Williams. "Themyscira" is the first single from Wonder Woman 1984, and fans can listen to it down below.

Despite Gregson-Williams being in charge of the music for 2017's Wonder Woman, Zimmer's influence was still felt in the film. His Wonder Woman theme from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was incorporated into the score. Zimmer also did the score for Man of Steelso he's well-versed in the way of the DCEU. From this first song alone, it's clear Wonder Woman 1984 will have a vibrant score to back both its action scenes and the quieter moments.

Since Wonder Woman was so well-received, anticipation is quite high for this sequel. Gadot previously insisted Wonder Woman 1984 isn't quite a sequel, though, because it is so different from the first installment. However, there are some clear connections between the two films, such as the surprise reappearance of Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). Had things gone according to plan, audiences would have already seen Wonder Woman 1984; now the hope is that they won't have to wait too much longer to actually do so.
