A pair of magazine covers offer a new look at two of Diana's costumes from Wonder Woman 1984. The sequel to 2017's groundbreaking DC superhero film will introduce new characters and a new era for Diana of the Amazons to explore. Patty Jenkins is back as director after her first Wonder Woman ignited the passion of fans who fell in love with the iconic superheroine and have been anticipating a return to her world ever since

While the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed Wonder Woman 1984's release date from early June to August 14, Jenkins has been doing her part to keep fans feeling optimistic in the meantime. In addition to assuring everyone the delay will be worth it in the end (following reports claiming Warner Bros. has considered sending the Wonder Woman sequel straight to streaming), Jenkins has expressed her belief in the "power of cinema" and hope there will be "beter times for all" by the day the movie arrives.

Empire Magazine has now released two new covers prominently featuring Diana's costumes from Wonder Woman 1984. Colored in shades of bright neon, both covers tease a cheerful and colorful aesthetic for the film, which extends to Diana's superhero attire. You can check them out, below.

Like the first movie, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as the Justice League superhero. She is joined by Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord and Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva (also known as Cheetah), with Chris Pine rounding out the main cast as Steve Trevor (whose mysterious revival after his death in the first movie has yet to be explained). The sequel's trailers hint at Cheetah and Maxwell's villainous plans in the film without revealing too much, while at the same time showing Diana guiding Steve as he adjusts to life in the world of the '80s. Plot-wise, however, they've revealed little to nothing about the movie - something that goes doubly true for the Wonder Woman 1984 motion posters and other marketing material unveiled so far.

Judging by the early glimpses of the sequel, Diana's costumes in Wonder Woman 1984 were recreated from the DC comic books down to the last detail. Among other things, these covers give cosplayers a chance to get a head-start on crafting their own costumes inspired by the film to wear at conventions in the future. Obviously, it will be a while still before everyone can safely gather in public events again, but it's something to look forward to all the same.
