New set photos from Wonder Man see Sir Ben Kingsley's latest Marvel Cinematic Universe return. One of the new heroes joining the MCU is Simon Williams, a.k.a. Wonder Man. Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be jumping from DC to Marvel as the iconic Avenger. The Disney+ drama is expected to be part of Phase 6, as Marvel Studios hasn't slotted it yet.Wonder Man recently kicked off principal photography on season 1 in Los Angeles. Someone who is returning to the MCU through Wonder Man is Kingsley's Trevor Slattery. Thanks to new set photos (via @WonderManNews,) a first look at Kingsley's return has been revealed.

Kingsley was last seen in 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. His appearance in Wonder Man reunites him with Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton, who is executive producing.

Everything We Know About Wonder Man

According to reports, Wonder Man will be a Hollywood satire focusing on Simon's career as an actor. That is likely how Trevor factors into the Disney+ drama, as he's known for his failed acting career. Perhaps, following the events of Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi, Trevor is giving Hollywood another go.

However, Wonder Man will also feature some new players in the MCU alongside Simon. In late March of this year, Demetrius Grosse was cast as the Marvel villain Grim Reaper. Known as Simon's brother, Eric, he will potentially be the big bad for Wonder Man season 1. Ed Harris has reportedly signed on to play Neal Saroyan, who is Simon's agent in the comics.

Wonder Man has the potential to add something new to the MCU through its Hollywood angle. It's essentially the MCU's Entourage, giving an insight into a leading man's acting career. Hopefully, more details about Kingsley's role in Wonder Man will begin to emerge as they get deeper into filming.
