Warning: This post contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1, episode 2.She-Hulk: Attorney at Law might have just introduced Wolverine as canon in the MCU, raising questions about his current location and where he, and the other X-Men, have been. The latest Disney+ series from Marvel Studios has already included several nods to the wider world of the MCU, with many references to past films, and even a clever nod to the recasting of Edward Norton's role as Bruce Banner after The Incredible Hulk. Now, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 2, "Superhuman Law," has given audiences their first tease pointing to a certain metal-clawed mutant.

While Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) and best friend Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) are scouring the internet looking for a replacement job after the former is fired, she resigns herself to looking at odd-ball careers on a site that doesn't seem to take itself too seriously. The webpage lends itself to some fun Easter eggs, including small mentions of the Avengers, Norse mythology, and the "statue" of Tiamut that emerged from the ocean during Eternals. But it's one title under the related articles section that has got fans excited about the introduction of Wolverine into the MCU, as the title reads, "Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl," apparently pointing directly to the infamous X-Man.

While this Wolverine reveal is certainly exciting for the future of mutants and the X-Men in the MCU, the small mention has left people wondering where the character has been this whole time, and subsequently where the rest of the X-Men have been hiding, too. Long-term viewers of Marvel projects have been waiting years to see the primary X-Men team interact with the established MCU characters. The fact that the first mention of the Wolverine character came during an episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law could suggest the perfect place to properly bring him into the MCU.

When & How Will The MCU Properly Introduce Wolverine & Other X-Men?

Where Has The MCU's Wolverine Been

Avid fans of Marvel Comics and the Fox X-Men franchise will know that Wolverine's mutant abilities allow him more than just his trademark metal claws, but also an elongated lifespan that means he can live for hundreds of years and barely seem to age, as confirmed in montage form during X-Men Origins: Wolverine. If Wolverine is currently getting into bar brawls, as mentioned in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it stands to reason that he has been around for the whole duration of the MCU. This in turn suggests that, contrary to some theories, the rest of the X-Men and mutant-kind as a whole will keep their comic origin stories when introduced to the MCU, meaning Magneto might have still suffered during World War II, and Professor X might have still been experimented on by Mister Sinister. So there are questions that need to be answered about where the MCU's mutants have been hiding.

Since Wolverine has now been teased in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it seems like the opportunity is being created for the character to make his first official MCU appearance in the near future. Rumors have been circulating about a possible World War Hulk film in development at Marvel Studios, with Bruce Banner's journey into space in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 2 supporting this theory. This might be the best place to introduce Wolverine to the MCU since he and Bruce/ Hulk started as enemies in 1974's The Incredible Hulk #180. Wolverine's connection to the Hulk in the comics means that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was the best place for Marvel to tease the character, and now fans can be sure that Wolverine will have a large role in the MCU's future.
