Marvel's Wolverine and DC's King Shark are two of the most popular animalistic antiheroes of the modern age - but which one would win in a battle? Wolverine is undoubtedly the most popular X-Men in Marvel's mutant pantheon, and King Shark is - as of 2021, at least - a fan-favorite member of Amanda Waller's Task Force X, otherwise known as the Suicide Squad. But should the two ever meet in combat, one won't walk away - because unlike the vast majority of characters in superhero comics, these two fight to kill.

Yes - other superheroes hold steadfastly to the "Batman Rule" in that they'd rather lose a fight than win it through killing their opponent, but Wolverine and King Shark are quite different. Wolverine's animal instincts occasionally force him to fly into a berserker rage, slashing everything in sight and becoming as dangerous to his friends as he is to his enemies. For his part, King Shark is an animal, and has absolutely no qualms about killing his enemies (and eating them). With that in mind, and assuming neither character will back down until the other is lying dead on the ground, the battle is joined.

Wolverine has his work cut out for him if he comes across an angry King Shark. Nanaue is the product of a human mother and a God-of-All-Sharks father, and as such can survive on both land and water. He has super-strength and has the crushing power to bite an Atlanteen soldier in two. Like Wolverine, Nanaue has a healing factor, able to regenerate teeth within hours of cracking them and even regenerate his intestines during a battle with O.M.A.C. He has bulletproof skin, but he can be cut - just not by most materials and certainly not by the average human. Unfortunately for King Shark, Wolverine isn't human at all.

Wolverine has super-strength (though not as much as King Shark), and speed (though he can't outspeed Nanaue in water), but he makes up for his failings with a healing factor that, compared to King Shark, is downright supercharged. Wolverine's skin isn't bulletproof, but considering the amount of rounds he shrugs off in any given fight, he might as well be. If his claws can pierce the Hulk's skin (and they can), then he should have no problem with King Shark - unless Nanaue manages to drag him underwater. Wolverine's healing factor can protect him, but he'll experience the horrors of death by drowning again and again and again - especially considering his adamantium skeleton makes him a horrible swimmer.

Thus, the deciding factor is the location of the battle. If King Shark can drag Logan into any body of water, he'll win handily. If not, Wolverine can take down King Shark - and possibly kill him to finish the fight.
