Wolverine has sparred against some of the most powerful heroes and villains in the entire Marvel Universe. But, when it comes to taking on the Juggernaut, Logan is in big trouble. In one of the character's meetings, Wolverine tried his best to slice his way through his overpowered opponent and was left scratching his head more than Juggernaut's armor.

Cain Marko, more commonly known as the Juggernaut, first appeared in The X-Men #12The hulking villain is one of the strongest beings in all of Marvel Comics, as his connection to the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak gives the human-born brute his incredible power. Juggernaut is a dangerous mix of unfiltered strength and durability, as he's a living wrecking ball capable of breaking through almost anything. To top it off, he can protect himself with force fields, so even when he is open for attacks, he has a built-in defense mechanism. Wolverine found out the hard way that Juggernaut doesn't crack easily.

In Uncanny X-Men #102 by Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum, Sam Grainger, John Costanza, and Bonnie Wilford, the X-Men find themselves face-to-face with Black Tom Cassidy, who unleashes the Juggernaut on the mutant superteam. Wolverine initially lobs Colossus at Juggernaut, which causes him to lose his balance. But, when Juggernaut responds by throwing Colossus through a wall, Wolverine decides to make his move. He unsheaths his claws and tries to cut through the massive villain. His adamantium claws don't even make a dent.

Calling Juggernaut chubby? Not the best idea. In return, Juggernaut wallops Wolverine with a punch that sends him flying.

Wolverine continues to try to take down Juggernaut, but continues to get absolutely smashed. He tells Marko "I ain't gonna quit until I'm dead," to which the villain responds "that can be easily arranged you arrogant pipsqueak!" as he delivers a backhand that renders Wolverine unconscious. The X-Men actually lose the fight with Juggernaut, who shows off his pure, untamed strength. They are captured by Black Tom Cassidy, and the only reason they escape is thanks to Marko accidentally breaking a wall, allowing Storm to summon her powers to free them.

Wolverine tried his best to take down the Juggernaut, but in this fight, he was so outmatched he was practically useless. Marko is simply too powerful for Logan's claws, and it's not surprising to see him make quick work of the mutant. In order to take down the massive villain, the X-Men need to work as a team - as Wolverine alone will usually never be able to get the job done, even at full strength. Simply put, Juggernaut is too much of a juggernaut.
