Fans of the series now have more information about the anticipated Wolfenstein: Youngblood release — we now know that the game has an official release date set for later this year, and Bethesda has mentioned that it's going to come with a host of features including a coveted multiplayer mode which is going to let you and your friends take the fight to the fascists together.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood was first announced at E3 2018 to much aplomb, with its cooperative play system being one of the things highlighted about the game. As established last year, players will have the chance to play as BJ Blazkowicz's twin daughters as they hunt Nazis through the streets of France in search of their father. Now, we know a little more about how this co-op action is going to work and a little more about the story thanks to the official story trailer that has now been revealed.
The trailer for the Wolfenstein: Youngblood release was dropped by Bethesda on their official YouTube channel and it features a little more about the two Blazkowicz sisters and their mission to get rid of Nazis in Paris. The trailer also features plenty of callbacks to BJ's good work and the hint of a mysterious story about BJ pulling a classic Wolfenstein by going AWOL on what looks like a rogue mission. That story, coupled with an arsenal of ass-kicking suits and flamethrowers, makes it appear as though there's going to be a whole lot of co-op chaos offered up for players' entertainment. The trailer also announced a July 26, 2019 release date for the upcoming Wolfenstein adventure.
"Wolves hunt together" being the tagline for the Wolfenstein: Youngblood release is pretty fitting considering the fact that players who shell out for the Deluxe Edition of the game will have the ability to invite friends to play it with them, even if those friends haven't purchased the title at all. The concept behind the Buddy Pass that's launching with the game is essentially that you're going to always have someone to watch your back as you slaughter your way through Paris.
This Pass makes the most of the game's schtick with the two Blazkowicz sisters by ensuring that friends who join you via the Buddy Pass system also have the option to upgrade to the full game so that they too can spread the love amongst their fascist-punching friends. That being said, it's good to note that the Deluxe Edition of Wolfenstein: Youngblood is going to feature a little more than the Buddy Pass. It'll also have a Cyborg Skin Pack to jazz up the Blazkowicz sisters' suits, guns, and other assorted weaponry.
We still have a fair ways to go until the Wolfenstein: Youngblood release in July later this year and from the looks of the co-op action that's going to be available, it's going to be hard for fans to tear themselves away from the Nazi-punching action once it's out. There's no news on whether or not the title's going to come to consoles like the PlayStation or the Xbox this year yet, so those who aren't PC users are going to have to keep their fingers crossed until we hear more from Bethesda.
