The Witcher season 2 trailer is much better with music from the games, according to fans. After its premiere in December of 2019, The Witcher quickly went on to become one of Netflix's most popular original series. The Henry Cavill-led fantasy drama is now returning for a second season set to air on December 17. Based on the second novel in Andrzej Sapkowski's series, Blood of Elves, season 2 will follow Geralt (Cavill) and Princess Ciri's (Freya Allan) journey to his childhood home of Kaer Morhen, where the young Princess will be kept safe and trained as a Witcher.

Before Netflix's popular adaptation, The Witcher was known as a series of role-playing games from developer CD Projekt Red. The mainline series began in 2007 with The Witcher and concluded in 2015 with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is now accompanied by various expansion packs and spin-offs. While they both draw from the same source material, the games and Netflix's series have mostly remained separate entities, though they did collaborate on a virtual fan event this past summer.

The official trailer for season 2 of The Witcher was released just a few days ago, and now a fan decided to replace the trailer's original music with a popular song from the games. The modified trailer was posted on the r/witcher subreddit by a user named sirjanhar500. Watch the fan-made trailer below:

For those who thought Kanye West's "Monster" seemed a bit out of place in the original Witcher trailer since the show set is set in a fantasy world, they may find this fan-made one preferable. Some admittedly enjoyed the use of the Kanye West song since it obviously references the various monsters that Geralt fights throughout the series, but others also liked the song choice since it demonstrated that The Witcher is willing to embrace its wackiness and not take itself too seriously.

The music used in the fan-made trailer should immediately be recognizable to fans of the games, as it plays during The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt whenever a monster is battled. The song in question is called "The Sword of Destiny" by composers Marcin Przybyłowicz and Percival Schuttenbach. The track scores the new trailer eerily well and coincides with all its beats almost perfectly, while also adding some authenticity and simultaneously amping up the drama. With these two versions of The Witcher season 2 trailer out there, fans can watch them side by side and decide for themselves which one they prefer.
