The runtime for Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an anime spin-off of Netflix's wildly popular fantasy series The Witcherhas been revealed. The stand-alone film was announced early in 2020, to be helmed by The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich and Beau DeMayo, with animation being done by Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra). The film will serve as a prequel to the series and follow Vesemir, Geralt of Rivia's mentor and the person responsible for transforming Geralt into the Witcher.

Now, Netflix has revealed the runtime for Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf: the animated film will come in at one hour and twenty-one minutes. The film's official Netflix page also drops a brief synopsis, stating that the film will be about a "powerful new threat facing the Continent."

Considering that season 2 of The Witcher will feature a live-action Vesemir, a chance for audiences to get to know the character a little better before his series-debut will be helpful. Vesemir was integral in turning Geralt into the man he is now, and his story is essential to the lore of The Witcher's world. An hour and twenty-one minutes is a decent amount of time for the animated spin-off, and The Witcher fans will undoubtedly be excited to sink their collective teeth into a long story as they wait for season 2.
