The Witcher franchise has its Netflix adaptation coming out soon, but fans of the series have been clamoring for a different announcement: The Witcher 3 Switch release date. This port has garnered a lot of attention in the industry, a multitude of questions about the game's resolution on Nintendo's new favorite console notwithstanding. However, Gamescom 2019 has just announced the release date for this highly-anticipated port: Geralt will ride onto the Switch on 15 October 2019.

The trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Switch runs through all the picturesque locations that the DLC has to offer, likely as a way to show off all the bundled content that the Complete Edition for the Switch will include. We also get a look at Geralt looking surly in a tavern, complete with plenty of cutscene footage featuring series greats like Ciri, Yennefer, and the Wild Hunt's coterie.

The Witcher 3 Switch port is now available for pre-order, and considering that it's not all that far away with a release date of 15 October, now is the perfect time to jump into everything if this is your first experience with the series.
