The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has recently received news about an upcoming remastering, which aims to celebrate the video game's seventh anniversary. Fans are getting excited all over again to play as The Witcher's iconic protagonist, Geralt of Rivia.

While Geralt is obviously controlled by whoever is playing the game, there are plenty of cut scenes and bits of dialogue that define the Witcher as a unique character of his own, along with how he acts in gameplay. These are some of the best memes that illustrate the unique personality of the beloved White Wolf in Wild Hunt.

Falling

In The Witcher 3, Geralt is seen formidable opponent with unending strength. Players can use Geralt to fight the most dangerous monsters in the land, and end up unscathed enough to continue their adventure relatively unharmed.

Unfortunately, the Witcher's strength does not seem to extend to fall damage. It is all too often in the game that players find Geralt more easily hurt from a fall than a fight with a dangerous creature.

Terrified Of Portals

Though Geralt's job is to slay the most terrifying monsters, portals are by far scarier to him than the scary creatures he deals with in The Witcher. This aversion is made apparent by the many comments he makes when encountering these magic sources in the game.

It's ironic that the Witcher can be a fearless fighter, but is made uncomfortable by something as benign as a portal. Unfortunately for him, they are found semi-frequently in the game as means for quick travel.

Gwent

Geralt's main mission in The Witcher is to find his surrogate daughter Ciri, which is a noble quest that is considered one of the best storylines in gaming. While in reality, this would be a serious task pressed for time, there are plenty of opportunities to slack off before finding Ciri in the video game.

Despite being filled with adventure, battles, and quests, one of the most favored aspects of The Witcher 3 is the card game Gwent. There's always time to play Gwent in the game, despite any mission or side quest that Geralt is anxious to complete.

Encountering Enemies

While it's fairly common for Witcher characters to use more expletive words, Geralt seems to be fond of one particular phrase in the game. His phrase "damn, you ugly" may seem mild in comparison with the range of curse words he could use, but is no less insulting.

Geralt's token phrase is a common piece of dialogue that he uses when fighting monsters in combat. This seems to be an all-encompassing insult for not just Waterhags, as the meme mentions, but to various other monsters in the game.

Reward

Geralt is one of the last Witchers left, and sometimes he is the only one fitting enough to kill specific monsters that threaten common people. Despite this, he still often finds himself arguing with fitting prices for his life-saving job.

As the meme implies, Geralt's occupation has possibly inspired some real-life folks to take payment for monster killing. Although, real-life monsters might seem a bit less dangerous by comparison to the Witcher's enemies.

Not An Extrovert

For a man whose occupation is to live a solitary life slaying monsters, Geralt certainly has a knack for getting involved in various public settings. While he clearly prefers talking to close companions like Dandelion and Yennefer, he is constantly dragged into gatherings.

This has been the case for Geralt in many other forms of Witcher media, especially in the original books. Unfortunately, his involvement with Ciri pushes Geralt to be involved in political affairs aside from just social gatherings.

Missing Yennefer

There's plenty of debate over which love interest to choose in The Witcher 3: Yennefer of Vengerberg or Triss Merigold. While there is an equal option in the game, Yennefer does have the benefit of being tied to the Witcher by fate.

While Triss is popular for her caring personality and fairy-tale side-quest "Now or Never," Yennefer is often chosen because of her maturity, wit, and canon romance with Geralt outside the games. Choosing Yennefer also provides some interesting cut-scenes, which intrigue both Geralt and players alike.

Candles

While playing as Geralt in Wild Hunt can be very rewarding, there are some aspects of gameplay that prove to be a little more frustrating. One of these challenges often occurs when looting a chest.

Candles are often in proximity to chests in the video game, and a player can easily find themselves lighting a candle when they intended to loot. While this is solely a gameplay issue, it certainly makes it look like Geralt has a passion for lighting candles from the player's perspective.

Geralt The Mutant

Aside from ridding towns of monsters, Geralt does a lot for his community by helping ordinary people. Many accredit the White Wolf as a hero, since he often uses his inhuman strength for the good of others.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter how many lives Geralt saves in the Witcher 3 towns, as people still end up calling him a mutant. Thankfully, the Witcher has developed some thick skin over his hundred or so years of living.

Looting

Geralt might spend lots of his time saving others in The Witcher 3, but he certainly doesn't miss the chance to rob a house when the opportunity presents itself.

While Geralt as a character is known to make moral decisions, Wild Hunt provides players with many opportunities to act in ways the Witcher might not on his own. This influence of player choice makes Geralt a little more morally grey in the games than in other forms of media.
