With the new series out on Netflix, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has risen again and is rocking on all cylinders. With new and old players returning to the game, let's revisit a great way to get upgraded from the beginning of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with the Places of Power in White Orchard. The Places of Power were created when the Conjunction of Spheres occurred, which also brought about the many different creatures and the creation of magic as well. They represent a place where magic has been concentrated into a singular location.

White Orchard has six Places of Power and each represents a magic sign that Geralt gets when starting the game. Upon visiting each Place of Power Geralt can gain one ability point that can upgrade his stats in the character screen. Ability Points are highly valuable when starting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They have a big importance in how Geralt powers up, timing on when he gets his skills, and what gameplay focus he has for the game. He will also gain a buff from each location that, when harnessed, will make the sign of each location stronger for a limited amount of time. Be careful when approaching these locations as there could be enemies of different power levels stalking them. Finding these Places of Power is no small task. Here are some instructions on how to find all six in White Orchard.

The Witcher 3: Place of Power - Igni

This first Place of Power is in the White Orchard Cemetery to the north of the Mill guidepost. It's approximately 100 steps from the signpost to the Place of Power. Standing from the guidepost, turn until the mill is out of frame on the right side of the screen and a path will be available to take. Follow the path and you'll arrive at a cemetery with a small chapel. Right in front of the chapel is the Place of Power.

The guidepost for the Mill provides the second starting point in getting to this location. This time, the path where the mill is, going North East, is the path to take. Stay on this path until a crossroad appears with small stone walls on the right going North East. Do not go North East, instead, stay on the path going North which will turn left if you are following it. Eventually, you'll reach a small village where there are soldiers and two people who have been hung. From this location travel due North East and you will stumble on a monster nest which also houses the Place of Power.

The Witcher 3: Place of Power - Quen

The Broken Bridge guidepost takes us right on top of this location. Upon arrival, jump over the bridge and take the path from the bridge. It will twist to the left, then veer right and at the exact moment that right turn occurs in the map, the trees will open up into a clearing. Turn left immediately after the small clearing, walk a few steps, and the yellow glow of this Place of Power can be seen.

The Witcher 3: Place of Power - Yrden

Witcher 3 Yrden Places of Power

The Yrden Place of Power can be found by starting at the Abandoned Village guidepost and entering into the village. Exit the village going East and follow the stone wall until it becomes wooden fences. Continue following the fence until a statue lit up by a few small candles with offerings in front of it appears. Standing face to face with the statue, there's an opening in the fence to the left of it where it looks as though it has been broken in half. It also shows a rough path that does not appear on the map. Follow the path and it will reward Geralt with another Place of Power.

Beginning from the Cackler Bridge fast travel point, face away from the bridge and march East along the path. You'll come up to a Monster Nest on the left of the path that also houses the Place of Power.

The Witcher 3: Place of Power - Axii

Witcher 3 Axii Places of Power

The journey to reach the Axii Place of Power starts at the Sawmill guidepost. From here, take the path going north with the wooden fence on your left as you begin your ride. Along the path, you'll run into a cart with supplies on the left and a stone wall to the right. This is the moment to leave the path and take a right at the stone wall before the ditch that's a bit further up the path. A small hill is all that stands in the way between Geralt and another Place of Power.
