In The Witcher 3 Cockatrice stomach is used to make some of the best armor and oil in the game, but it can also be one of the trickiest beasts for players to find. The Cockatrice resembles a mixture between a rooster and a wyvern, but don't let its appearance fool you, as it's one of the nastiest creatures Geralt can encounter.

Only the bravest (or most foolhardy) witcher would willingly seek out a cockatrice, but that's exactly what Geralt needs to do if he wants some amazing gear that will help him take on the Wild Hunt. The problem with hunting for Cockatrice stomach in The Witcher 3 is that the creatures really only appear in a few different places, and it can take a while for them to respawn. To see one of the best respawning Cockatrice locations in Witcher 3 for yourself, watch the video from Linus Wilson on YouTube below:

It's also possible to find Cockatrices in Witcher 3 out in the wild at other specific points, and even as part of a Contract quest, which are both detailed below.

Cockatrice Stomach Locations In Witcher 3

The city of Crow's Perch from a bird's eye view in The Witcher 3

There is a powerful variant of The Witcher 3's Cockatrice known as the Shrieker fought as a part of a contract quest. Players can pick up the Cockatrice contract in Crow's Perch, and following the clues will lead them to a cave on the outskirts of the city. The Shrieker is a fierce foe and players should be well-prepared for a long and tough battle. Like many giant monsters in The Witcher 3, the Shrieker has no back attacks, so the best tactic is to stay behind it as much as possible and chip away at its health.

Other Cockatrice stomachs are located in a few select areas. There is a lake near the town of Yantra (north-east of Novigrad) and Cockatrices will spawn in the area west of the lake. Players who visit Ard Skellig (the largest of the six islands on Witcher 3's map) can find a lake east of Fornhala where Cockatrice will spawn as well. These two locations are the best places to find Cockatrice stomach in Witcher 3, besides the quest and other area mentioned above.
